U.M.C.'s
The UMC's was an American hip hop duo from the borough of Staten Island in New York City. The group was composed of Haas G and Kool Kim, who released the critically acclaimed full-length album ''Fruits of Nature'' in 1991, which garnered chart success with the duo's No. 1 Billboard Hot Rap Single, "Blue Cheese", and No. 2 Hot Rap Single, "One To Grow On." (which contains a sample from "Ursalena" by Bill Cosby) In 1994, the duo released its second album, ''Unleashed'', but split up soon after. Haas G (born Carlos Evans, aka Fantom of the Beat) is a Staten Island-based hip hop musician. Haas G was part of the 1990s rap duo The U.M.C.'s, and as Carlos Evans, he is credited as producer of the hit "Magic Stick" ( Lil' Kim featuring 50 Cent). "Magic Stick" is a song performed by American hip hop recording artist Lil' Kim, released on April 8, 2003, as the second single from her third studio album ''La Bella Mafia'' (2003). The song features fellow American rapper 50 Cent and was produced by Carlos "Fantom of the Beat" Evans. Despite not having a physical release or music video, the song performed very well on the charts, peaking at number 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Background The song samples "It Be's That Way Sometimes" by Joe Simon. The song was originally intended for 50 Cent's album ''Get Rich or Die Tryin''' and featured rapper Trina.
