U.S. Highway 81 (US 81) is a U.S. Highway that begins at an interchange with Interstate 35W/ US 287 (I-35W/US 287) in northern Fort Worth in Texas. US 81 leaves the state and crosses the Red River into Oklahoma between Ringgold, Texas, and Terral, Oklahoma. Sunset is an unincorporated community in Montague County, Texas, United States. Until 1900, a surveying error had placed the community in Wise County. The Fort Worth and Denver Railway runs through Sunset. The population was 339 at the 2000 census. The city disincorporated on April 19, 2007. History 2009 wildfires On April 9, 2009, the community was evacuated in advance of approaching wildfires. Encinal ( ) is a town in La Salle County, Texas, United States. The population was 540 at the 2020 census. Interstate 35 Business runs through the community. There are few businesses in Encinal; most have closed along the main street. Railroad officials named the town for the Spanish word for ''oak grove''. The population peaked in 1937 at eight hundred residents. History Encinal may be named for the Spanish word for a holm or holly oak grove. The town was supposed to be the county seat for Encinal County which was established on February 1, 1856 and was to consist of the eastern portion of Webb County, Texas. Interstate 35 (I-35) in Texas is a major north–south Interstate Highway running from Laredo near the Mexican border to the Red River north of Gainesville where it crosses into Oklahoma. Along its route, it passes through the cities of San Antonio, Austin, and Waco before it splits into two auxiliary routes just north of Hillsboro. I-35E heads northeast where it passes through Dallas. I-35W turns northwest to run through Fort Worth. The two branches meet up in Denton to again form I-35, where it continues to the Oklahoma border. The exit numbers for I-35E maintain the sequence of exit numbers from the southern segment of I-35, and the northern segment of I-35 follows on from the sequence of exit numbers from I-35E.
