U.S. Route 311 In North Carolina
U.S. Route 311 is a United States highway that runs for from Winston-Salem, North Carolina to near Danville, Virginia. It connects the cities of Winston-Salem, Madison, and Eden. The route runs northeast from Winston-Salem to Danville. By the numbering convention, it is an auxiliary route of US 11, however except for a brief period shortly after the route was established, it has not connected to its parent route. US 311 begins in Winston-Salem, at US 52 (exit 110B) in the downtown area, and proceeds northeast of the city. Starting in the vicinity of Madison, US 311 follows a number of different North Carolina state highways in short succession along with another major US Highway, US 220 before crossing the Virginia line. North Carolina Highway 770
North Carolina Highway 770 (NC 770) is a state highway running through rural North Carolina and Eden. The road travels from NC 704 near Sandy Ridge to the Virginia state line southwest of Danville. It connects the city of Eden with US Highway 220 in Stoneville. Going east of Eden, NC 770 runs along a concurrency to its eastern terminus with U.S. Route 311 (US 311). North Carolina Highway 135 (NC 135), designated the J.J. Webster Highway, is a road running from Mayodan, North Carolina, Mayodan to Eden, North Carolina, Eden in the US state of North Carolina. NC 772 is a two-lane rural highway that traverses from U.S. Route 311 (US 311) north of Pine Hall to NC 704 in Prestonville. Walnut Cove, North Carolina
Walnut Cove is a town in Stokes County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,536 at the 2020 census. It is the home of Family Pharmacy and the Walnut Cove Springfest, which draws many visitors to the area. Festival-organizers marked 1889, the town's incorporation date, but the town's roots date to the mid-18th century when it was known as Town Fork. Town Fork settlers formed a bond with Moravians in Bethania and Bethabara. Eventually, William Lash, a Moravian settler at Bethania, bought land along the Town Fork Creek, which later developed into a large plantation named Walnut Cove.
