Several special routes of U.S. Route 30 exist. In order from west to east they are as follows. Existing St. Helens business loop U.S. Route 30 Business (US 30 Bus.) in St. Helens, Oregon uniquely uses "Interstate Business Loop" shields. This route was designated and is maintained by the local government and does not appear in the official state highways list unlike other business routes. Portland bypass U.S. Route 30 Bypass serves as a bypass of Portland, Oregon, following several streets through the city's northern neighborhoods. It is designated as the Northeast Portland Highway No. 123 by the Oregon state government. The bypass route terminates to the west at US 30 in northwest Portland and crosses the Willamette River on the St. Johns Bridge. In road transportation in the United States, a special route is a road in a numbered highway system that diverts a specific segment of related traffic away from another road. They are featured in many highway systems; most are found in the Interstate Highway System, U.S. highway system, and several state highway systems.
