U.S. Route 231 (US 231) in Florida is a north–south United States Highway. It runs from Panama City north to the Alabama State Line in Bay and Jackson Counties. The entire route is also unsigned State Road 75 (SR 75), and is a four-lane highway throughout the state whether the road is divided or not. Route description Panama City and Bay County U.S. Route 231 begins its northward journey in Panama City at US Business Route 98 (Sixth Street) as a continuation of Harrison Avenue, which spans as far south as the Panama City Marina. Harrison Avenue runs straight north and south as far south as Fourth Street and serves as the point in the city where intersecting west-to-east streets change their names from "West ?th Street," to "East ?th Street." Panama City is a city in and the county seat of Bay County, Florida, United States. Located along U.S. Highway 98 (US 98), it is the largest city between Tallahassee and Pensacola. It is the more populated city of the Panama City–Lynn Haven, Florida metropolitan statistical area. Panama City was severely damaged when Hurricane Michael made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane on October 10, 2018. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,392, down from the figure of 36,484 at the 2010 census. State Road 389 (SR 389) is a north–south highway carried by East Avenue in Bay County, Florida. The southern terminus is at US 98 BUS ( SR 30) in Panama City. The northern terminus is US 231 (SR 75) in Hiland Park Hiland Park is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Bay County, Florida, United States. The population was 999 at the 2000 census. State Road 20 (SR 20) is a east-to-west route across northern Florida and the Florida Panhandle in the United States. Route description Okaloosa County (Niceville and Bluewater Bay) SR 20 starts at SR 85 in Niceville as John Sims Parkway, which travels to Eglin AFB East Gate through Valparaiso as westbound SR 85 and southbound SR 397. SR 20 heads slightly southeast while SR 85 goes north towards Crestview. The road shortly after intersects the southern terminus of SR 285 as it passes by Niceville High School, reducing to four lanes from six lanes.
