Télévision Malagasy ( mg, Televiziona Malagasy, abbreviated as TVM) is the national broadcaster of Madagascar, established in 1967. To achieve national dissemination of programmes across Madagascar, the channels broadcast on the EutelSat satellite at 16° East. Likewise it is also used for the diffusion of Radio Madagascar on the radio FM at 99.00Mhz. One of its former names was "Radio Television Malagasy", that name lasted until the 1990s. Broadcasts started on 24 December 1967 through a station located in Antananarivo, and over the next years repeaters were installed on Ambatolampy, Antananarivo-East and Arivonimamo. On 28 December 1974 a new TV station opened on Antsiranana Antsiranana ( mg, Antsiran̈ana ), named Diego-Suárez prior to 1975, is a city in the far north of Madagascar. Antananarivo ( French: ''Tananarive'', ), also known by its colonial shorthand form Tana, is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. The administrative area of the city, known as Antananarivo-Renivohitra ("Antananarivo-Mother Hill" or "Antananarivo-Capital"), is the capital of Analamanga region. Ambatolampy
Ambatolampy is a city (commune urbaine) in the Vakinankaratra Regions of Madagascar, Region, situated in the Central Highlands (Madagascar), Central Highlands of Madagascar. It had a population of about 28,500 in 2013. It is the administrative capital of the Ambatolampy District, district of the same name, and is situated on Route nationale 7 (Madagascar), Route nationale No. 7 which runs from Antananarivo to Toliara. Ambatolampy is a railway station on the Antananarivo - Antsirabe line. It is situated at 70 km South from the capital Antananarivo. Arivonimamo
Arivonimamo is a city (commune urbaine) in Itasy Region, in the Central Highlands of Madagascar. Arivonimamo is connected by the National Road No.1 to Antananarivo (50 km in the east) and Tsiroanomandidy (west). The Antananarivo international airport was there until replaced by Ivato in 1967. Now it is an airbase. It borders to the communes of Miarinarivo in the west, Antananarivo and the Analamanga region in the North-east. Antsiranana ( mg, Antsiran̈ana ), named Diego-Suárez prior to 1975, is a city in the far north of Madagascar. Antsiranana is the capital of Diana Region. It had an estimated population of 115,015 in 2013. History The bay and city originally used the name ''Diego-Suárez'', named after Diogo Soares, a Portuguese navigator who visited the bay in 1543–44. In the 1880s, the bay was coveted by France, which desired it as a coaling station for steamships.
