''Téléfoot'' is a French Association football, football programme produced by TF1 Group, TF1 Production for TF1. The programme was created by Pierre Cangioni in 1977 to show French Ligue 1, Division 1 highlights. Téléfoot now covers France international matches, European club competitions and foreign football leagues. History In 1977, Pierre Cangioni had the idea for a French football television programme. He pitched the idea to bosses of TF1, who agreed to pay 700,000French franc, F to acquire the rights for the coverage from Ligue 1, Division 1. It was France's first dedicated football television programme, and Cangioni was the show's first presenter. The original format was two matches, each with ten minutes of highlights, and an in depth look at some players, and the show was broadcast on Saturday evenings. Christian Jeanpierre
Christian Jeanpierre (also spelt Jean-Pierre, born 9 April 1965) is a French sports journalist who has worked for French television channels Canal+ and TF1, as well as radio station Europe 1. Jeanpierre presented TF1's football programme, Téléfoot, in 2004, and from 2008 to 2018. Personal life Jeanpierre was born in Le Puy-en-Velay, Haute-Loire, and grew up in Toulouse. His grandparents were farmers. He studied at the Journalists Training Center in Montpellier. Jeanpierre is a supporter of Toulouse FC, and rugby union team Stade Toulousain. He is an amateur drummer, and plays music with Jean-Jacques Goldman. Career Jeanpierre's first journalistic work was for the La Dépêche du Midi whilst he was providing humanitarian aid in Mali. Since 2018, he has been the main presenter of the TF1 football programme Téléfoot. Personal life Margotton's father taught at Lumière University Lyon 2. Pierre Cangioni (born 29 July 1939) is a French sports journalist, best known for presenting the French football television programme ''Téléfoot'' from 1977 to 1982. He was the president of Olympique de Marseille from 1994–95. Personal life Cangioni was born in Paris in 1939. His parents were from Corsica, and he grew up in Bocognano, Corsica. He remembers Bocognano being protected by the Italian Army during the Second World War. He attended Bocognano school. His family later moved to Ajaccio. Ligue 1, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the French football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Didier Roustan (born 10 October 1957) is a French sports journalist who has presented and commentated for multiple French football channels, and currently works for L'Équipe television channel.
