Tysvær is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is part of the Haugalandet region. The municipality is located on the Haugalandet peninsula on the northern side of the Boknafjorden, just east of the towns of Kopervik and Haugesund. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Aksdal. Other villages in the municipality include Dueland, Førre, Grinde, Hervik, Hindaråvåg, Nedstrand, Skjoldastraumen, Susort, Tysvær, and Yrke. The European route E39 highway and European route E134 highways traverse the municipality with their junction located at Aksdal in Tysvær. The Frekasund Bridge on the E39 highway connects the mainland of Tysvær to the island municipality of Bokn to the south. Hervik is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the Herviksfjorden, about east of the village of Tysværvåg and about northeast of the Kårstø industrial site. Karmøy is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is southwest of the town of Haugesund in the traditional district of Haugaland. Karmøy Tunnel
The Karmøy Tunnel ( no, Karmøytunnelen) was the longest subsea road tunnel in Norway until the opening of Ryfast in 2019, and is located in the municipalities of Karmøy and Tysvær in Rogaland county. At long, it links the island of Karmøy with the European Route E39 highway on the mainland. The town of Kopervik lies just south of the western end of the tunnel. The tunnel is a major part of the T-Link project, which is a toll road project that was opened in September 2013. European highway E 134 ( no, Europavei 134) is a European highway that crosses Norway starting at Haugesund Airport, Karmøy near the city of Haugesund on the west coast, heading over Haukeli, passing the city of Drammen, and ending in Vassum on the east side of the Oslofjord Tunnel. European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. In total, there are nine ferries, more than any other single road in Europe. In Trondheim, there are connections to E6 and E14. Yrke
Yrke or Yrkje is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the western end of the Yrkefjorden, a branch off of the main Vindafjorden. The village lies on a small isthmus between the Yrkefjorden and the Skjoldafjorden, along the County Road 515, the only road over the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the mainland. Susort is a village in Tysvær municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the eastern shore of the Førlandsfjorden, about south of the village of Tysvær. The European route E39 highway runs just outside the village. The word is an old version of the word ''svarttrost'' which means " blackbird".
