Tyrone Powell
Tyrone Lyndon Powell (born 17 June 1953) is a former Welsh cricketer. Powell was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born at Bargoed, Glamorgan. It can be assumed Powell spent part of his life living in New Zealand, as his first-class debut came for New Zealand Under-23s against Otago in 1972. Powell played no further first-class matches in New Zealand. In 1976 he played a single first-class match for Glamorgan against the touring West Indians, making a duck in both innings, being dismissed by Wayne Daniel in the first innings and Michael Holding in the Glamorgan second innings. Powell also played Minor Counties Championship cricket for Norfolk from 1982 to 1985, with his first match for the county coming against Hertfordshire and playing his final Minor Counties match for the county against Suffolk. Bargoed
Bargoed ( cy, Bargod) is a town and community in the Rhymney Valley, Wales, one of the South Wales Valleys. It lies on the Rhymney River in the county borough of Caerphilly. It straddles the ancient boundary of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire, with Bargoed lying in Glamorgan and Aberbargoed in Monmouthshire. Wayne Wendell Daniel (born 16 January 1956) is a former cricketer, who played as a right arm fast bowler. Daniel featured for the West Indies, Middlesex, Barbados and Western Australia in his cricketing career. Cricket career Born in St Phillip, Barbados, Daniel picked up cricket at a young age. Evolving into a hostile and muscular fast bowler, Daniel first toured England with the West Indies schoolboys team in 1974 and Middlesex's Second XI in 1975. After such he made his first-class debut for Barbados in 1975/76. Daniel, in partnership with fellow fast bowlers Michael Holding and Andy Roberts, contributed greatly to the defeat of England in 1976. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The NCCA 3 Day Championship (previously the Minor Counties Cricket Championship) is a season-long competition in England and Wales that is contested by the members of the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), the so-called national counties that do not have first-class status. History The competition began in 1895, with the Worcestershire honorary secretary Paul Foley being influential in its creation. Michael Anthony Holding (born 16 February 1954) is a Jamaican former cricketer and commentator who played for the West Indies cricket team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pace bowlers in cricket history, he was nicknamed "Whispering Death" due to his silent, light-footed run up to the bowling crease. His bowling action was famously smooth and extremely fast, and he used his height () to generate large amounts of bounce and zip off the pitch.
