Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship
The Tyrone Intermediate Football Club Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the LCC Group Tyrone Intermediate Football Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Tyrone GAA clubs. Galbally Pearses are the title holders (2022) defeating Edendork St Malachy's in the final. History The tournament was first held in 1962, with Cookstown the first champions defeating Galbally in the final. The semi-final of the 2021 Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship was abandoned after eight minutes and an Air Ambulance had to land on the pitch at Healy Park to care for the injured. From 2018, all championship games have been streamed live on Tyrone TV. Format The 16 clubs in Division 2 of the All-County Football League in Tyrone compete on a straight knockout basis. Gaelic Football
Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. A goal is awarded for kicking the ball under the crossbar into the net (the ball cannot be hand-passed into the goal), signalled by the umpire raising a green flag. Owen Roe O'Neill's Gaelic Athletic Club ( ga, CLG Eoghan Rua Uí Néill) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Tyrone GAA. The club is based in the parish of Leckpatrick, including the village of Glenmornan, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The Club, named after the 17th-century Irish Confederate general Eoghan Rua Ó Néill, plays Gaelic football and ladies' Gaelic football. Moy Tír na nÓg is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Moy, a village in the south of County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It fields teams at all age groups in Gaelic football and Ladies' Gaelic football, and is affiliated to Tyrone GAA, playing at present in the Senior Championship and in League Division 1. Stewartstown Harps GFC
Stewartstown Harps is a Gaelic Athletic Association club which was founded in 1912 and based in the village of Stewartstown in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The club plays its games in Mullaghmoyle park. History Stewartstown won the Ulster Junior Club Football Championship in 2004, beating Cremartin in the final. The Harps went on to qualify for the All-Ireland final, but were outclassed by Finuge. In 2006, the Harps regained promotion to Senior Championship Football after a period of 26 years. In 2009 they were again relegated to junior, but the team went on a successful run in the league in 2010, only beaten once. In the championship Stewartstown made it to the final against local rivals Killyman. The Harps lost the final by just one point. Promoted to intermediate football in 2011, the harps would stay in the division for the next 10 years until being relegated again in 2021. Fintona Pearses ( ga, Fionntamhnach Na Piarsaigh) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Fintona, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is a member of the Tyrone GAA county board and is named after the Irish poet and revolutionary, Patrick Pearse. The club primarily concentrates on Gaelic football, with hurling teams fielded at youth level. Its home venue is called St Lawrence's Park, located just outside the village on the Tattymoyle Road. As of 2021, the senior Gaelic football team competes in Division 3 of the Tyrone All-County Football League as well as the Tyrone Junior Football Championship. Omagh St Enda's GAA
Omagh St Enda's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Conor Sally is club chairman. History GAA clubs existed in Drumragh parish during 1904-09 (including hurling and camogie), 1917–20 and intermittently in the 1920s. However it wasn't until 1932 when the Omagh St Enda's club was founded. The club's first meeting took place on 28 February in St Patrick's Hall opposite the Sacred Heart Church. Omagh contested the Tyrone Senior Football Championship final on four occasions before eventually winning the cup for the first time in 1948, beating Clogher Éire Óg GAC 1-3 to 0-2. Moortown St Malachy's GAC
Moortown St Malachy's is a GAA club based in the village of Moortown in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. History Moortown are one of the most successful clubs in Tyrone having won four Tyrone Senior Football Championships in 1941, 1942, 1950 and 1992. Moortown St Malachys will celebrate their centenary year in 2023. Their last county championship victory came in 1992 and the side was captained by James Devlin. However, the Malachys have a less than inspiring record in finals and on innumerable occasions have reached junior, intermediate and senior finals and then fallen at the final hurdle. The club used to field a hurling team in the 1970s, competing in the Derry league. Dromore St Dympna's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Dromore in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. History The club was established in 1933. On Sunday 14 October 2007, Dromore made history by winning the Tyrone Senior Football Championship for the first time by beating Coalisland 0-14 to 0-4 at Healy Park, Omagh.
