Tyler Richards
Tyler Richards (born September 22, 1986 in Coquitlam, British Columbia) is a lacrosse coach and former professional Canadian lacrosse goaltender. He is the goaltending coach for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. As a player, he played for the Calgary Roughnecks, Washington Stealth, Vancouver Stealth and San Jose Stealth of the NLL as well as the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the WLA. From 2005 to 2007, he played for the Coquitlam, BC, Adanacs of the BC Junior A Lacrosse League. NLL career Richards was drafted by the Stealth in the fourth round (46th overall) of the 2007 Entry Draft. In 2009 Richards was selected to the All-Rookie Team. In 2010 Richards was a part of the NLL Champions Washington Stealth. Calgary Roughnecks
The Calgary Roughnecks are a professional box lacrosse team based in Calgary, Alberta. They are members of the Western Division of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and play their home games on WestJet Field at Scotiabank Saddledome. The team name is derived from the roughnecks who work drilling rigs in Alberta's oil and gas industry. The team is affectionately known by fans as the ''Riggers''. The Roughnecks were founded in 2001, their first season was 2002, and they have qualified for the post-season every year from 2003 to 2016. They have won three division championships (2005, 2009, 2011) and have captured the NLL Cup as NLL champions three times. The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Box lacrosse, also known as boxla, box, or indoor lacrosse, is an indoor version of lacrosse played mostly in North America. The game originated in Canada in the 1930s, where it is more popular than field lacrosse. Lacrosse is Canada's official national summer sport. Box lacrosse is played between two teams of five players and one goalie each, and is traditionally played on an ice hockey rink once the ice has been removed or covered. The playing area is called a box, in contrast to the open playing field of field lacrosse.
