Tyabb is a township and semi rural locality on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's central business district, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Tyabb recorded a population of 3,449 at the 2021 census. Tyabb is within an urban enclave on Western Port comprising Tyabb, Hastings, Bittern, Crib Point, and Somerville. It is served by the Tyabb railway station on the Stony Point railway line. Statistically it is part of Greater Melbourne. Mornington Peninsula's first Dog only café is located out the back of the Tyabb Packing House. History ''Tyabb'' is derived from the Boonwurrung word ''jouap'', one of the recorded names for French Island. The Post Office opened on 9 March 1891 shortly after the arrival of the railway in 1889. The electoral district of Hastings is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was created prior to the 2002 election due to population increases in Melbourne's outer south east. Crib Point is a town on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Crib Point recorded a population of 3,343 at the 2021 census. The town is part of an urban enclave on Western Port comprising Bittern, Crib Point, Hastings, Tyabb, and Somerville. Crib Point is served by three railway stations: Morradoo, Crib Point and Stony Point, the latter of which is the terminus of the greater-metropolitan Stony Point line. Crib Point Post Office opened on 18 July 1890. The town has an Australian Rules football team competing in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.
