Twothirtyeight
Twothirtyeight was an American indie rock band from Pensacola, Florida. They were active from 1995 to 2003, though they have reunited for performances in the years since their disbandment. Formed in 1995, Twothirtyeight released three independently produced EP albums before signing with the now-defunct Takehold Records. In 1999, Twothirtyeight released their first full-length album ''Missing You Dearly'' on Takehold Records. The band line-up featured Chris Staples, Kevin Woerner, Owen Grabo, and DJ Stone. The album was dedicated to Kevin Glass, the band's former bass guitarist, who died in a tragic car accident in 1997. Weeks before Glass was killed, he taught Owen Grabo the bass parts for most of the songs in the band's catalogue. In 2000, with Owen Grabo having left the band, Twothirtyeight recorded their next EP, '' Matter Has a Breaking Point'', as a three-piece outfit with Chris Staples on bass guitar and lead vocals. It was pressed on vinyl by the now-defunct BlessedKilling Records in 2001. Chris Staples
Chris Staples is an American indie rock musician originally from Pensacola, Florida, long based in Seattle, Washington. He released ''Panama, Burned and Blistered'', '' Blackest Hair, Bluest Eyes'', ''Badlands'', and ''American Soft'' independently, before catching the attention of Seattle-based Barsuk Records, who re-released ''American Soft'' in 2014. Staples' second album on Barsuk, ''Golden Age'', was released in 2016. His next album, ''Holy Moly'', was released by Barsuk on June 28, 2019. In addition to his solo career, Staples has performed with Telekinesis, Josh Tillman, Rocky Votolato, Jeremy Enigk, and David Bazan. Further Seems Forever is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Over its initial eight-year run the band experienced several lineup changes, resulting in a different lead vocalist performing on each of their first three studio albums. Original singer Chris Carrabba recorded ''The Moon Is Down'' (2001) with the group before leaving to start Dashboard Confessional. He was replaced by Jason Gleason, who performed on '' How to Start a Fire'' (2003) but left the band the following year. Former Sense Field vocalist Jon Bunch joined Further Seems Forever for '' Hide Nothing'' (2004). The band broke up in 2006 but reunited four years later with Carrabba on vocals. Christopher Ender Carrabba (born April 10, 1975) is the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dashboard Confessional, lead singer of the band Further Seems Forever, and is the vocalist for the folk band Twin Forks. Early life and education Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States, Carrabba's parents divorced when he was three. At age 16, he moved with his mother Anne, brother Nick, stepbrother and stepfather to Boca Raton, Florida. Carrabba remains close to some relatives on his paternal side, but is not close to his father Andrew specifically. As a teenager, Carrabba was interested in skateboarding and passionate about music. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today.
