Two Twisted
''Two Twisted'' is an Australian TV mystery anthology drama which premiered on the Nine Network on 14 August 2006. Narrated by Bryan Brown, who also produced the series' predecessor, '' Twisted Tales'', each episode of the series contains two short half-hour stories, that have a twist ending. Also present in each episode is a link or connection between the two tales. Rather than draw on a pool of experienced writers, the producers of the series issued a call to up-and-coming writers to submit screenplays. Some 2,400 entries were received and from these, 14 finalists were chosen. Directors were chosen in a similar fashion. A mix of experienced and emerging directors were chosen to shoot each episode. Jennifer Kent
Jennifer Kent (born 5 March 1969) is an Australian actress, writer and director, best known for her directorial debut, the horror film ''The Babadook'' (2014). Her second film, '' The Nightingale'' (2018), premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and was released in the United States on 2 August 2019. Early life Kent was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She says that she put on her first play when she was seven and also wrote stories. In her late teens, she chose acting as she "wasn't really aware at that stage that women could direct films". She graduated in 1991 from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Performing Arts (Acting). Sandra Levy is an Australian film and television producer who has worked in both public and commercial television. Early life and family Levy was born in Sydney. Her parents were Jewish communists from whom she inherited a love of the arts and a capacity for intellectual jousting. She married her second husband Australian television director Michael Carson in the 1970s. They had one son together, Simon, but the couple later divorced. Career Levy was born in Sydney, New South Wales. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a BA majoring in English literature. While at university she was a fringe member of the Sydney Push. ''Twisted Tales'' is an Australian television anthology and mystery drama which screened on the Nine Network from December 1996 to January 1998. Each episode was narrated by Bryan Brown, who also produced the follow-up series, ''Two Twisted'', in 2006. Each episode of the series contains a twist ending. Release The series initially aired during December 1996 and January 1997, before going on hiatus. Later in 1997, a video titled ''Still Twisted'' was made for the Australian and American markets. It compiled various episodes from the series into a single movie. The show briefly returned to Australian television in early 1998.
