Charles Barton (director)
Charles Barton (May 25, 1902December 5, 1981) was an American film and vaudeville actor and film director. He won an Oscar for best assistant director in 1933. His first film as a director was the Zane Grey feature '' Wagon Wheels'', starring Randolph Scott, in 1934. Barton worked in Hollywood B-movie units. From 1946, he was a principal director of the Abbott and Costello comedies, such as '' The Time of Their Lives'', '' Buck Privates Come Home,'' '' Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein,'' and ''Africa Screams''. He later directed Walt Disney films such as '' The Shaggy Dog'' and ''Toby Tyler''. His extensive work for television included every episode of ''Amos 'n' Andy'' in the 1950s, a total of 90 episodes of '' Dennis the Menace'' in the 1960s, and 106 episodes of ''Family Affair'' from 1967 to 1971. Donald Theophilus Beddoe (July 1, 1903 – January 19, 1991) was an American character actor. Early years Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Beddoe was the son of Dan Beddoe, a Welsh classical singer, and his wife Mary. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with bachelor's and master's degrees and taught English for three years. Stage Beddoe gained much theatrical experience playing in stock theater in Boston, Massachusetts, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Broadway acting debut in 1929, receiving top billing (over a young Spencer Tracy) in ''Nigger Rich''. American comedy films are comedy films produced in the United States. Don L. Brodie (May 29, 1904 – January 8, 2001) was an American film and television actor. Early years The son of Mrs. Lottie Brodie, he attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati. Before becoming a professional actor, he worked in Procter & Gamble's main offices. Career As early as 1928, Brodie was acting on stage. A review in ''The Cincinnati Enquirer'' listed him in the cast of the Civic Theater's production of ''The Pigeon''. Brodie worked with Cincinnati's Civic Repertory Theater for nine years. A veteran of over 250 film and television productions, Brodie signed his first film contract with Universal Pictures Corporation in 1931. Fortunio Bonanova, pseudonym of Josep Lluís Moll, (13 January 1895 – 2 April 1969) was a Spanish baritone singer and a film, theater, and television actor. He occasionally worked as a producer and director. According to Lluis Fàbregas Cuixart, the pseudonym ''Fortunio Bonanova'' referred to his desire to seek fortune, and his love of the Bonanova neighborhood in his native Palma.
