Travon Free (born ) is an American comedian, actor and writer. He has written for ''Full Frontal with Samantha Bee'', ''The Daily Show'' on Comedy Central, and ''Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons'' on HBO. Free won an Emmy Award for his work on ''The Daily Show'' and won an Academy Award for ''Two Distant Strangers'' in the Best Live Action Short Film category. Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American woman, was fatally shot in her Louisville, Kentucky apartment on March 13, 2020, when at least seven police officers forced entry into the apartment as part of an investigation into drug dealing operations. Three Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers—Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove—were involved in the shooting. Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, was inside the apartment with her when the plainclothes officers knocked on the door and then forced entry. The officers said that they announced themselves as police before forcing entry, but Walker said he did not hear any announcement, thought the officers were intruders, and fired a warning shot at them. The African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is the world's largest group of Black film critics that gives various annual awards for excellence in film and television. It was founded in 2003 in New York City. History The association was founded in 2003 by Gil L. Robertson IV and Shawn Edwards.
