Twente One
This list of prototype solar-powered cars comprises multiperson, relatively practical vehicles powered completely or significantly by solar cells (Solar panel, panels or Solar array, arrays, mounted on the vehicle) which convert Solar energy, sunlight into electricity to drive Traction motor, electric motors while the vehicle is in motion and have a homologation for public streets. Australia Sunswift V (eVe) The Sunswift V (aka "UNSW Sunswift#Sunswift V .28eVe.29 .282012 - current.29, eVe") from the University of New South Wales was built for the 2013 & 2015 World Solar Challenge. Solar Spirit 3 The "Solar Spirit 3" with 3 seats was built by Technical and further education, TAFE South Australia for the 2011 World Solar Challenge. Brazil e.coTech Solar version The "e.coTech" is a normal electric car developed by "HiTech Electric" and is sold only to small and medium-sized businesses. In 2017, the solar version of "e.coTech" was announced and presented to the public in ...

Solar-powered Vehicle
A solar vehicle or solar electric vehicle is an electric vehicle powered completely or significantly by direct solar energy. Usually, photovoltaic (PV) cells contained in solar panels convert the sun's energy directly into electric energy. The term "solar vehicle" usually implies that solar energy is used to power all or part of a vehicle's propulsion. Solar power may be also used to provide power for communications or controls or other auxiliary functions. Solar vehicles are not sold as practical day-to-day transportation devices at present, but are primarily demonstration vehicles and engineering exercises, often sponsored by government agencies. However, indirectly solar-charged vehicles are widespread and solar boats are available commercially. Land Solar cars Solar cars are electric cars that use photovoltaic (PV) cells to convert sunlight into electrical power to charge the car's battery and to power the car's electric motors. Solar cars have been designed for ...

Venturi Eclectic
The Venturi Eclectic is a zero emission car, running on solar sourced electric power, from the French/ Monegasque car manufacturer Venturi owned by Gildo Pastor. It functions as a small renewable energy production and storage plant (with a roof mounted solar panel and its own wind turbine) and can be recharged at any outlet of the power grid. It was designed by Sacha Lakic. The Eclectic concept appeared at the Paris Motor Show in 2006, and was mentioned in Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2007. It is designed with 3 seats in a V-formation, with the driver at the apex, and has open sides. It is an urban car and has a range of and a maximum speed of . Eclectic 2.0 The Eclectic 2.0 is designed on similar principles but is more compact. It has more limited accommodation but would be more readily driven (and parked) in a crowded urban environment. The Eclectic 2.0 was first revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Production 2010 was a strategic year for Venturi with the launch ...

Venturi Astrolab
The Venturi Astrolab was an early-2000s concept battery electric car with adjunct energy provided from solar panels mounted to the vehicle. It was unveiled at the Mondial de l’Automobile in 2006. Technical specifications The original Venturi Astrolab uses a electric motor in place of the internal combustion engine fitted to most cars. This electric motor also had a claimed maximum torque In physics and mechanics, torque is the rotational equivalent of linear force. It is also referred to as the moment of force (also abbreviated to moment). It represents the capability of a force to produce change in the rotational motion of th ... output of , delivered instantly. The top speed of the Venturi Astrolab . With its bodywork composed of of high efficiency (21%) solar cells, the Astrolab is aiming for a concept of zero emission vehicle; it was unveiled at the Mondial de l’Automobile in 2006. The builder claimed that the average daily intake of the solar cells would enable ...

Venturi Automobiles
Venturi is a Monaco-based automotive manufacturer. Founded in 1984 by French engineers Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godfroy as ''MVS (Manufacture de Voitures de Sport)'', the company's purpose was to compete in the " Grand Tourisme" market. This was only the most recent post-war attempt at building a sporty luxury car in France, following in the footsteps of Facel Vega, Monica, and Ligier. As with its predecessors, Venturi was immediately faced with many challenges ranging from an unknown name to its under-capitalized and under-staffed state. Venturi did nonetheless manage to continue in production for nearly sixteen years, declaring bankruptcy in 2000. The same year, Monegasque Gildo Pallanca Pastor purchased Venturi, and decided to focus on electric-powered motors. This change of direction led to the limited-production Fétish, the first electric sports car in the world. Following the public's enthusiasm for this first electric model, the brand developed 5 other innovative conce ...
