Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag
Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag is a Faroese football club from Tvøroyri, currently playing in the Betrideildin, the top tier of Faroese football. TB Tvøroyri is the oldest football club in the Faroe Islands, and also one of the oldest in the Danish Realm, in which the Faroe Islands are a self-governing country. After the end of the 2016 season, it was decided on 15 December 2016 that the three clubs of the island Suðuroy, which are TB Tvøroyri, FC Suðuroy and Royn Hvalba would merge into a new club for the 2017 season. The merger will not be complete until 2018 and the name will be all three names together for the 2017 season: TB/FC Suðuroy/Royn. The three clubs have not been dissolved yet, they continue separately for the children's and women's teams. In 2017 it will only be the men's teams which will play for the new cooperation. Við Stórá is a stadium located in Trongisvágur, Faroe Islands. It is mostly used for Association football, football matches and is the home ground of Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag. History The stadium replaced TB's old field Sevmýri as their home stadium. The first game played there was a 6th round Faroe Islands Premier League, first division match against ÍF, which TB won 1–0 with the goal scored by Serbian defender Dmitrije Janković. John Jacobsen (football)
John Martin Jacobsen (born 27 December 1944) is a Norwegian film producer. He is the leader of the Norwegian production company Filmkameratene, and has produced more than 30 Norwegian movies. Jacobsen has received several awards for his work. In 2003 he was awarded the Amanda Committee's Honorary Award. In 2008 he was appointed commander of the Order of St. Olav, for the work he has done for Norwegian film. Jacobsen grew up in Osterhaus gate, Oslo. His mother was a stay-at-home mom, and his dad was a ship officer. He lived right next to a cinema, where he spent a lot of time. He started earning money by delivering newspapers, but as a 15 year old he got hired by the local cinema. The man in charge of the cinema realized that Jacobsen had an extreme interest for film, and wanted him to be in charge of setting up their film program, earning 2% of the turnover. The Faroe Islands Cup (, literally the Prime Minister Cup) is the main football cup competition in the Faroe Islands. The first edition was played in 1955. History The HB–TB decade The first decade of the competition was marked by the alternance of titles between HB and TB. Only in its eleventh year, the cup saw a different champion, with B36 defeating rivals HB in the final. Subsequent years In the subsequent editions, the other former finalists also got their first titles; KÍ in 1966, and VB in 1974. 1970 was the only time a final was not played, as the Faroe Islands Sports Association (ÍSF) choose to annul the competition after KÍ, and later VB, refused to play against HB in Tórshavn. HB continued to enjoy success, but TB won the competition just once after the first decade, in 1977.
