Turning Stone Resort Championship
The Turning Stone Resort Championship was a PGA Tour professional golf tournament, first played from September 20–23, 2007. It was hosted by the Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. In 2007, it was the first of the seven Fall Series events played after the conclusion of the FedEx Cup, which was introduced the same year. The prize fund was $6 million. The tournament's timing in the PGA Tour calendar changed in 2008: The 2008 Fall Series began before the conclusion of the FedEx Cup with the Viking Classic. After the Fall Series took a week off for The Tour Championship, it resumed with the Turning Stone Championship. Verona, New York
Verona (called ''Te-o-na-ta-le'', "''pine forest''" by the Haudenosaunee) is a town in southwestern Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 6,293 at the 2010 census. WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
The WGC Invitational was a professional golf tournament that was held in the United States. Established in 1999 as a successor to the World Series of Golf, it was one of three or four annual World Golf Championships (WGC) until 2021, when the number of WGC events was reduced to two. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Invitational was titled as the WGC-NEC Invitational (1999–2005) and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (2006–2018). During this time, it was hosted at Firestone Country Club in Ohio, except for 2002 when it was hosted at Sahalee Country Club in Washington. With a change of sponsor in 2019, the tournament became titled as the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational and was relocated to at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. Michael Allen (golfer)
Michael Louis Allen (born January 31, 1959) is an American professional golfer, currently on the PGA Tour Champions. Early life and amateur career Allen was born in San Mateo, California and played college golf at the University of Nevada in Reno. Professional career Allen turned professional in 1984 and played on the European Tour 1986-89 and 1992, winning the 1989 Scottish Open. Allen played on the PGA Tour 1990-95, 2002, and 2004-09. He has played over 300 events on the PGA Tour and has three second-place finishes (2004 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, 2007 Turning Stone Resort Championship and 2010 Viking Classic) and three third-place finishes, but no wins. 2007 PGA Tour
The 2007 PGA Tour season ran from January 4, 2007 to November 4, 2007. The season consisted of 47 official money events. This included four Men's major golf championships, major championships and three World Golf Championships, which are also sanctioned by the European Tour. There were also five unofficial events played in November and December. Tiger Woods swept all the major awards for a sixth time. Twelve players won three million dollars, 34 won two million or more and 99 won one million or more. The cut off to make the top 125 on the money list and retain a tour card was a record $785,180. The total prize money, as stated on the 2007 schedule of tournaments page of the PGA Tour website, was $271.1 million. Robert Allenby
Robert Allenby (born 12 July 1971) is an Australian professional golfer. Early years Allenby was born on 12 July 1971 in Melbourne, Victoria. His father had emigrated to Australia from Leeds, UK as a young man. Professional career He turned professional in 1992 and was successful almost immediately, topping the PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit in his first season and again in 1994. Dustin Hunter Johnson (born June 22, 1984) is an American professional golfer. Vaughn Joseph Taylor (born March 9, 1976) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, Taylor was raised in Augusta, Georgia, from infancy. After attending Hephzibah High School, he played golf for Augusta State University where he was an honorable mention All-American his senior season. PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50. The idea for a senior tour grew out of a highly successful event in 1978, the Legends of Golf at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas, which featured competition between two-member teams of some of the greatest older golfers of that day.
