Turning Point (2009 Action Film)
''Turning Point'' is a 2009 Hong Kong action crime thriller film directed by Herman Yau and starring Michael Tse in the title role of "Laughing Gor" and co-starring veteran actors Francis Ng and Anthony Wong. Released in Hong Kong on 13 August 2009, this is the first film to be produced by Shaw Brothers since 2003's ''Drunken Monkey''. Michael Tse's performance as "Laughing Gor" in the TVB television serial '' E.U'' was well received, and due to his popularity, TVB general manager Stephen Chan Chi-wan, during an interview with Tse in '' Be My Guest'' on 1 April 2009, announced that a prequel/spin-off featuring "Laughing Gor" would be made and presented Tse a contract for the film. Hong Kong Action Cinema
Hong Kong action cinema is the principal source of the Hong Kong film industry's global fame. Action films from Hong Kong have roots in Chinese and Hong Kong cultures including Chinese opera, storytelling and aesthetic traditions, which Hong Kong filmmakers combined with elements from Hollywood and Japanese cinema along with new action choreography and filmmaking techniques, to create a culturally distinctive form that went on to have wide transcultural appeal. Edwin Siu (; born 23 March 1977) is a Hong Kong actor and singer. Siu started his career as an idol singer and was formerly managed by Music Nation Group. In 2002, Siu left the Hong Kong entertainment industry to start his career in mainland China. In 2008, he returned to Hong Kong and signed an artiste contract with TVB. Ngo Ka-nin
Ngo Ka-nin (, born 26 September 1976) is a Hong Kong actor, singer and host. Career Ngo debuted as a radio DJ before he got into acting. He has also been one of the hosts for the entertainment news show, E-Buzz, since 2005 to 2007. Ngo is best known for his role as Chiang Bit-man in the 2009 drama ''Rosy Business'', which earned him the Most Improved Male Artiste award and a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2009 TVB Anniversary Awards. Johnson Lee (; born 11 April 1974) is a Hong Kong-Canadian TVB actor and celebrity impersonator. Born in Hong Kong, Lee immigrated to Canada in 1984 and settled in the Toronto area. Koni Lui Wai Yee (; born 3 September 1982 in Hong Kong) is a model and 2nd runner up at the Miss Hong Kong 2006 pageant. She represented Hong Kong at Miss International 2006 in Tokyo, Japan and Beijing, China. She received two awards, Most Beautiful Smile and the Miss Friendship award. She won four Miss Friendship titles (2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005). Tracy Ip Chui Chui (; born 10 September 1981 in Hong Kong with family roots in Shanghai) was Miss Hong Kong 2005. Background Coming from a family of four, Ip lives with her parents.
