Turner Foddrell
Turner Foddrell (June 22, 1928 – January 31, 1995) was an American Piedmont blues and folk acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter. He performed locally, nationally, and in Europe, both as a solo artist and with his brother, Marvin. They jointly recorded two albums in the early 1980s. In addition, he was often joined in performances by his son, Lynn. Life and career Foddrell was born into a musical family who lived near Stuart, Virginia. His father was the multi-instrumentalist Posey Foddrell (December 9, 1898 – December 1, 1985), who played fiddle, mandolin, piano, banjo, and guitar and had a notable regional reputation. The family lived in the Stuart area for several generations and rarely traveled far from their home. Stuart, Virginia
Stuart is a town in Patrick County, Virginia, where it is the county seat. The population was 1,408 at the 2010 census. The town of Stuart was named after Confederate Gen. J.E.B. Stuart, of nearby Ararat, Virginia. History Incorporation (1753–1830) The Town of Stuart was first incorporated as Taylorsville, Virginia, in 1792, in honor of early settler George Taylor. Stuart has been the county seat of Patrick County since 1791, when the county was organized from territory of Henry County, Virginia. "Walking the Floor Over You" is a country music song written by Ernest Tubb, recorded on April 26, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas, and released in the United States that year. Tubb later re-recorded the song with his band, the Texas Troubadours. Lightnin' Wells
Lightnin' Wells is an American Piedmont blues multi-instrumentalist and singer. He is a proficient musician and regularly plays various instruments in concert including the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, ukulele and banjo. At times he has performed as a one-man band. His style encompasses elements of the blues, country, gospel, old-time, bluegrass and folk. Mark Coltrain stated in ''Living Blues'' that, "You won't find a more versatile musician around – able to move deftly between country blues, old-time banjo, and novelty tunes with a single pluck. Lightnin' Wells changes the past..." Wells has released six solo albums and worked for ten years on the board of directors at Music Maker Relief Foundation. Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma (since about 98–99% of all lung cancers are carcinomas), is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissue (biology), tissues of the lung.
