Turn It On Again Tour
Turn It On Again: The Tour was a 2007 concert tour of Europe and North America by the English rock band Genesis. The tour was notable for the return of drummer and vocalist Phil Collins, who had fronted the band during their most commercially successful period before leaving in 1996, rejoining founder members Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, with their traditional on-stage musicians, Chester Thompson on drums and Daryl Stuermer on guitar/bass. History Collins was initially reported by the BBC as being interested in a reunion in November 2005. Collins had said he was "open" to a reunion featuring original lead singer Peter Gabriel where he would just be playing drums. After much speculation regarding a reunion, Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford announced the tour on 7 November 2006, nearly 40 years after the band had first formed. Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. The 1970s line-up, featuring singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, was among the pioneers of progressive rock. The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album ''From Genesis to Revelation'' in 1968. After splitting from King, the band began touring, signed with Charisma Records and became a progressive rock band on ''Trespass'' (1970). Patrick Woodroffe (born 11 June 1954) is a lighting designer and director working in the worlds of music, dance, fashion, art and architecture. Career Woodroffe began his career in lighting in 1973 and since then has lit and directed productions for many artists including ABBA, AC/DC, Adele, Bob Dylan, The Police, Take That, Peter Gabriel, Simon and Garfunkel, Genesis, Rammstein, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, Lady Gaga, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Pet Shop Boys, Michael Jackson, Elton John and Paul McCartney at the White House (3 June 2010). Woodroffe has worked with The Rolling Stones as their lighting designer and creative director since 1982. He lit Martin Scorsese's Shine a Light, the 2006 documentary of the band’s Beacon Theatre performances during their A Bigger Bang Tour. ''When in Rome 2007'' is a live DVD by British rock band Genesis recorded at Circus Maximus, Rome, Italy, on 14 July 2007, during the Turn It On Again Tour. The concert was directed by David Mallet. The collection was released on 26 May 2008 in most of the world and 10 June 2008 in North America. During its initial release in the United States, it was available exclusively via the band's website, or through Walmart and Sam's Club retail and online stores. Since November 2009, it has been available in regular outlets and online stores in the United States. A hi-definition release on Blu-ray and HD DVD was announced initially on the release of the corresponding CD ''Live over Europe 2007''. An HD DVD release did not happen due to the demise of the format, and the record company decided there was not a sufficient market for a Blu-ray release. The Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheatre in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was named one of the 10 best live music venues in America by ''Rolling Stone'' magazine in 2018. The Hollywood Bowl is known for its distinctive bandshell, originally a set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929 through 2003, before being replaced with a larger one to begin the 2004 season.
