Turn Down The Sound
''Turn Down the Sound'' is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer Nikki Yanofsky, released on July 10, 2020. The album's lead single, "Forget" was released on January 30, 2020, with a meme music video to accompany it. The video premiered the same day on ''Billboard''s website. The second single "Nerve" was released on March 20, 2020, after her Together at Home Instagram live concert. The third single "Loner" was released on May 15, 2020. The album was originally titled ''Black Sheep'', but was changed. In an interview with IHeartRadio Canada, Yanofsky said that ''Turn Down the Sound'' was her first choice for the title of the album, but she faced a lot of criticism within her team from choosing the title. She then decided to change it back last minute because it was "true to herself". The album's title track "Turn Down the Sound" and "Bubbles" were written by Yanofsky with her friend Rod Temperton. Nikki Yanofsky
Nicole Rachel "Nikki" Yanofsky (born February 8, 1994) is a Canadian jazz-pop singer from Montreal, Quebec. She sang the CTV Olympic broadcast theme song, " I Believe", which was also the theme song of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She also performed at the opening and closing ceremonies for the Olympics and at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games. She has released three studio albums to date, including ''Nikki'' in 2010, ''Little Secret'' in 2014, and ''Turn Down the Sound'' in 2020. Rod Temperton
Rodney Lynn Temperton (9 October 1949 – 25 September 2016) was an English songwriter, producer and musician. Temperton was the keyboardist and main songwriter for the 1970s pop music, disco and funk band Heatwave, writing songs including "Star of a Story", " Always and Forever", " Boogie Nights", and "The Groove Line". After he was recruited by record producer Quincy Jones, he wrote several successful singles for Michael Jackson, including " Thriller", " Off the Wall", and "Rock with You". He also wrote songs for George Benson, including " Give Me the Night" and "Love X Love", along with Patti Austin and James Ingram's United States number-one single " Baby, Come to Me", among many others. The Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, usually referred to as simply Wurlitzer, is an American company started in Cincinnati in 1853 by German immigrant (Franz) Rudolph Wurlitzer. The company initially imported stringed, woodwind and brass instruments from Germany for resale in the United States. Wurlitzer enjoyed initial success, largely due to defense contracts to provide musical instruments to the U.S. military.
