The Turkish Authors' Association ( tr, Türkiye Yazarlar Birliği, abbreviated as TYB) is an association for writers in Turkey. It is sometimes confused with the Turkish Writers' Union () as both may be translated as ''Writers Union of Turkey''. It gives awards to Turkish writers and media. Turkey ( tr, Türkiye ), officially the Republic of Türkiye ( tr, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, links=no ), is a transcontinental country located mainly on the Anatolian Peninsula in Western Asia, with a small portion on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeast Europe. The Turkish Writers' Union ( tr, Türkiye Yazarlar Sendikası, abbreviated as TYS) is a trade union for writers in Turkey. It is sometimes confused with the Turkish Authors' Association () as both may be translated as ''Writers Union of Turkey''. It was founded on 4 February 1974. European Writers' Council
The European Writers' Council (EWC, the ''European Writers' Congress'' until 2010) is a federation of authors' associations. There are four national trade union centers in Turkey.
