In modern use, the order of battle of an armed force participating in a military operation or campaign shows the hierarchical organization, command structure, strength, disposition of personnel, and equipment of units and formations of the armed force. Various abbreviations are in use, including OOB, O/B, or OB, while ORBAT remains the most common in the United Kingdom. An order of battle is distinct from a Table of Organization and Equipment, table of organisation, which is the intended composition of a given unit or formation according to the military doctrine of its armed force. Historically, an order of battle was the order in which troops were positioned relative to the position of the army commander or the chronological order in which ships were deployed in naval situations. Çanakkale
Çanakkale (pronounced ), ancient ''Dardanellia'' (), is a city and seaport in Turkey in Çanakkale province on the southern shore of the Dardanelles at their narrowest point. The population of the city is 195,439 (2021 estimate). Çanakkale is the nearest major urban centre to the ancient city of Troy, which (together with the ancient region of the Troad) is also located inside Çanakkale Province. The wooden horse from the 2004 movie ''Troy'' is exhibited on the Çanakkale waterfront. The 2nd Corps (Turkish: 2. Kolordu) is a field corps of the Turkish Army. It is headquartered at Gelibolu in Çanakkale Province. It appears to be under command of Major General Mustafa Oğuz. In 1941, it appears to have been part of the Second Army's Dardanelles and Marmara Area, and had its headquarters at Gelibolu with the 4th Infantry Division, the 69th Infantry Division, the 32nd Infantry Division, the 66th Infantry Division, and the 72nd Infantry Brigade. Balıkesir () is a city in Turkey and is the capital city of Balıkesir Province. Balıkesir is located in the Marmara region of Turkey and has a population of 338,936. The Second Army ( tr, 2. Ordu) of the Turkish Army has headquarters in Malatya. It protects Anatolia and it patrols the border with Syria, Iraq and Iran.
