Turkey Women's National Volleyball Team
The Turkey women's national volleyball team ( tr, Türkiye Kadın Voleybol Milli Takımı) is formed by the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) and represents Turkey in international CEV and FIVB organizations. The team is one of the most successful national sports teams in the country and is nicknamed "Filenin Sultanları" ( en, Sultans of the Net) since the 2003 Women's European Volleyball Championship hosted in Ankara, Turkey. It is ranked sixth in the FIVB World Rankings as of October, 2022. It was the bronze medallist in both 2011 Women's European Volleyball Championship and 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix. Daniele Santarelli is the new head coach of the team. History Sabiha Gürayman was the first Turkish woman to engage in the game of volleyball, which was introduced in Turkey in the 1910s. Turkish Volleyball Federation
The Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) (in Turkish: ''Türkiye Voleybol Federasyonu'') is the governing body of volleyball and beach volleyball in Turkey. Formed in 1958, it is based in Ankara. The TVF is a member of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). Federation's president is Mehmet Akif Ustundag since November 21, 2016. 2021 Women's European Volleyball Championship
The 2021 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 32nd edition of the Women's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. For the second time the Women's EuroVolley was held in four countries: Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania. Qualification Pools composition The drawing of lots was combined with a seeding of National Federations and performed as follows: # The 4 organizers were seeded in Preliminary pools. The X Mediterranean Games ( ar, ألعاب البحر الأبيض المتوسط 1987), commonly known as the 1987 Mediterranean Games, were the 10th Mediterranean Games. 2011 Women's European Volleyball League
The 2011 Women's European Volleyball League was the third edition of the annual Women's European Volleyball League, which featured Women's national volleyball teams from twelve European countries: Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Romania, Serbia, Spain, and Turkey. A preliminary league round was played from May 25 to July 10, and the final four tournament, which was held at Istanbul, Turkey, on 15/16 July. During the league round, competing nations were drawn into two pools of four teams, and played each other in a double round-robin system, with two matches per leg in a total of six legs. Pool winners qualified for the final four round, joining the host team.
