Warmun Community, Western Australia
Warmun Community (also known as Turkey Creek) and Warmun are a township and locality in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, located on the Great Northern Highway, northeast of Perth, Western Australia. The closest populated town is Halls Creek, about to the south. It is about south of Kununurra. Turkey Creek is a small creek that runs through the community. History The Gija people are the traditional owners of the area, having inhabited it for thousands of years. The area was settled by European pastoralists in the 19th century but the community was established in 1901 when the state government built a ration depot at Turkey Creek. Turkey Creek is a stream in Jasper County, Missouri, Jasper and Newton County, Missouri, Newton counties of southwest Missouri and Cherokee County, Kansas, Cherokee county of southeastern Kansas in the United States. It is a tributary of the Spring River (Missouri), Spring River. The stream headwaters arise in Newton County at in Newton County at an elevation of approximately 1170 feet. Turkey Creek is a stream in Benton and Hickory counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Osage River. The headwaters arise in northern Hickory County just east of U.S. Route 65 southeast of Cross Timbers. The stream flows northwest to north into Benton County and to the east of Fristoe. Turkey Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of the Little Sac River. The source is located at: and the confluence is at: . Turkey Creek begins as an intermittent stream on the northwest margin of Walnut Grove in northwestern Greene County adjacent to Missouri Route 123. It flows north into southwestern Polk County past Eudora and enters the Little Sac arm of Stockton Lake under Missouri Route 215. Prior to the filling of Stockton Lake the stream confluence with the Little Sac was just to the northwest in northeast Dade County. King Branch enters Turkey Creek from the south just south of Stockton Lake. Turkey Creek was so named due to the presence of wild turkeys near its course. Turkey Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. It is a tributary of Lake Taneycomo. The stream source is two-thirds of a mile south of the Missouri - Arkansas border in Boone County north of the village of Crest. The Missouri Pacific Railroad line follows the stream course after exiting the Crest railroad tunnel under Arkansas State Route 14 at Crest. North of the state line in Taney County the stream flows north through west Hollister to its confluence with Lake Taneycomo south of Branson.
