Ahmet Türk
Ahmet Türk (born 2 July 1942, Derik, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish origin from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). He has been a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for several terms and was elected twice as the Mayor of Mardin. He was born into a family of Kurdish clan and tribal chiefs in southeastern Turkey. Political career He was elected MP for the Democratic Party (DP) representing Mardin province in 1973. Later he resigned and joined the Republican People`s Party (CHP) and was re-elected as a deputy representing Mardin. Following the military coup in 1980, he was removed from parliament, arrested and sent to Diyarbakir Prison for 22 months. After his release he was active in different left wing parties. Željko Turk () (born 25 March 1962 in Zagreb) is the mayor of Zaprešić, a town in Zagreb County, Croatia. Business career Turk began his working career in Regeneracija factory, in town of Zabok. In 1991 he founded his own private company centered around textile production and trade. Political career He became the mayor in 2006. He is affiliated with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). He earned a seat in the Croatian Parliament at the 2007 elections and, as of January 11, 2008, constitutes a part of the sixth assembly of the Croatian Parliament. Thomas Eugene Turk (1927 – August 4, 1981) was an American jazz trombonist. Early life Tommy Turk was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in 1927. Tommy got his first trombone when he was in fourth grade of school. His elder brother, Rob, was also a trumpeter.
