The Screaming Jets
The Screaming Jets are an Australian hard rock band formed in Newcastle, Australia, in 1989 by frontman Dave Gleeson (vocals), Paul Woseen (bass guitar), Grant Walmsley (guitar)Richard Lara(guitar), and Brad Heaney (drums). The band has three albums that peaked in the top five on the Australian ARIA Charts: '' All for One'' (1991), '' Tear of Thought'' (1992), and ''The Screaming Jets'' (1995). Their 1991 single " Better" reached No. 4 on the related singles chart. Walmsley left in 2007 and formed his own band. In 2013, bassist Paul Woseen released an acoustic solo album, ''Bombido''. ''Tear of Thought'' is the second studio album released by the Australian rock band The Screaming Jets. The album was released in October 1992 and peaked at number 3 in June 1994. Reviews Jonathan Lewis of AllMusic gave the album 3 out 5 saying; "The Screaming Jets returned in 1992 with their second full-length album. ''Tear of Thought'' established them as stars rather than just another pub rock band. Musically, the disc continues in the vein of hard rock established by their debut, although this time the band experiments with some new musical direction, including the jazz-influenced " Helping Hand" and a faithful cover of the Boys Next Door classic, "Shivers." With enough raw power to delight fans and enough experimentation to keep critics happy, ''Tear of Thought'' was an enjoyable, but ultimately disposable, example of Australian hard rock music." rooArt was an Australian independent record label, founded in 1988 by INXS's then-manager, Chris Murphy. The label's roster included several well-known Australian bands and artists such as Crow, Ratcat, Screaming Jets, You Am I, Wendy Matthews, The Hummingbirds, The Trilobites and Amanda Brown. Other bands which made early or first releases on the rooArt label included Hipslingers, The Last Metro, The Lab, The Fauves, Bellicose and Custard. rooArt released a series of three compilation albums of new or then-unsigned acts, called ''Youngblood''. A number of acts released on the compilations went on to record their own albums, including Tall Tales and True, The Trilobites and Martha’s Vineyard. David Sean "Gleeso" Gleeson (born 3 June 1968) is the lead singer of Australian hard rock group The Screaming Jets. He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales and currently resides in Adelaide Hills, South Australia Biography David Sean Gleeson, Note: User may have to click 'Search again' and provide details at 'Enter a title:' e.g Body Bag; or at 'Performer:' Screaming Jets was born in 1968 and grew up in Newcastle. Gleeson formed his first rock band, Aspect, in 1985, with school pal, Grant Walmsley. "Shivers" is a song by the Australian post-punk band the Boys Next Door, who would later become The Birthday Party (band), the Birthday Party. It is the tenth and final track from the band's debut studio album ''Door, Door'', released in 1979 on Mushroom Records. It was released as the album's only Single (music), single in May 1979, backed with the A-side and B-side, B-side "Dive Position". Written by guitarist Rowland S. Howard, Rowland S Howard at age 16, "Shivers" is a post-punk ballad featuring ironic lyrics regarding teenage relationships and suicide.
