Tulu Wikipedia
The Tulu Wikipedia is the Tulu language edition of Wikipedia, run by the Wikimedia Foundation. It currently has articles and it is the largest edition of Wikipedia by article count. It is the 23rd language of India to get a Wikipedia after eight years in incubation. History Katherine Maher, the executive director of Wikimedia Foundation announced the launch of the Tulu Wikipedia as a full site at the WIkiConference 2016. It was in incubation since 2008. As of August 2016, it had 200 registered editors with 10 of them being active, and over 1000 articles. It was the 23rd language from India to have a Wikipedia edition. An online encyclopedia, also called an Internet encyclopedia, or a digital encyclopedia, is an encyclopedia accessible through the internet. Kannada Wikipedia
The Kannada Wikipedia ( kn, ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವಕೋಶ) is the Kannada-language edition of Wikipedia. Started in June 2003, it is moderately active and as of , it has articles with active users. It is the twelfth-most popular Wikipedia in the Indian subcontinent. The Kannada Wikipedia community held a meeting in Bangalore on April 2, 2006, which got fairly high press coverage. History As of August 16, 2009 the Kannada Wikipedia had about 6,800 articles, making it the 100th-biggest Wikipedia edition. As of January 2016, the Kannada Wikipedia is the tenth-largest and, thus, the smallest Wikipedia among other Indian-language Wikipedias. The Telugu Wikipedia ( te, తెలుగు వికీపీడియా) was begun on 10 December 2003 by Venna Nagarjuna, who is known for Padma (a system for transforming text in Indic scripts among open-source and proprietary formats). On 28 August 2016, its article count was 65,048—fifth among the Indian-language Wikipedias, after Hindi Wikipedia, Hindi, Urdu Wikipedia, Urdu, Tamil Wikipedia, Tamil and Nepal Bhasa Wikipedia, Newar. Background In 2005, the Hindi Wikipedia received a boost when Chava Kiran, Akkineni Pradeep, Vyzas Satya, Veeven and Charivari joined; Charivari later spearheaded the Telugu campaign.
