Tuca (Brazilian Musician)
Tuca (born Valeniza Zagni da Silva, 17 October 1944 - 8 May 1978) was a Brazilian guitarist, songwriter, and singer. She is best known for her collaborations with Françoise Hardy on Hardy's album ''La Question'', and with Nara Leao on Leao's album ''Dez Anos Depois'', both released in 1971. Career Tuca studied classical music at the Musical and Dramatic Conservatory of São Paulo. As a young woman, she released two albums in Brazil: ''Meu, Eu'' in 1966, and ''Eu, Tuca'' on the Philips label in 1968. Neither sold well, and in 1969 she moved to France to escape Brazil's repressive military regime. She was playing and singing in a Brazilian restaurant in Paris called La Feijoada when Françoise Hardy first encountered her music. Bossa Nova
Bossa nova () is a style of samba developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is mainly characterized by a "different beat" that altered the harmonies with the introduction of unconventional chords and an innovative syncopation of traditional samba from a single rhythmic division. The "bossa nova beat" is characteristic of a samba style and not of an autonomous genre. According to the Brazilian journalist Ruy Castro, the bossa beat – which was created by the drummer Milton Banana – was "an extreme simplification of the beat of the samba school", as if all instruments had been removed and only the tamborim had been preserved. Som Livre (Portuguese for "''Free Sound''") is a Brazilian record company that was founded in 1969 in order to commercialize its soap opera soundtracks. It later expanded to recording studio albums. Today, Som Livre is Brazil's largest domestic label and was formerly part of Grupo Globo, which is the biggest media conglomerate in Brazil. In November 2020, Globo placed the label up for sale. Lea Massari, born Anna Maria Massetani (born 30 June 1933) is an actress and singer from Italy. Massari was born Anna Maria Massetani in Rome, but changed her name to Lea Massari when she was 22 after the death of her fiancé Leo. She studied architecture in Switzerland.
