Tuborg Pilsener Spor Kulübü (in English: Tuborg Pilsener Sports Club) was a professional basketball club based in İzmir, Turkey. History The club was founded in 1971 in İzmir, under the name Izmir Swimming Specialization Club Association ("İzmir Yüzme İhtisas Kulübü Derneği") as a specialized sports club. On May 23, 1978 the club was included in the Yaşar Holding Club and has been named Tuborg Swimming Specialization Club Association. In 1989 the club adopted the name Spring Swimming Specialization Club-Society and in 1992 renamed to Tuborg S.K. changed as the club is primarily funded by the company that bears the name and supported. Swimming branches present the first club since its inception in 1981, Table Tennis, Volleyball in 1982, the basketball branch was established in 1993. İzmir Atatürk Volleyball Hall ( tr, İzmir Atatürk Voleybol Salonu) is a volleyball venue located in the district of Alsancak in İzmir, Turkey. After serving as the indoor sport hall for competitions of basketball, volleyball and handball for 40 years, it has been rebuilt to serve as the volleyball hall of the city and has a capacity of 6,000 people. Along with other local teams, İzmir's volleyball powerhouse Arkas plays its matches in this hall. International events hosted İzmir Atatürk Volleyball Hall hosted basketball games of the Universiade 2005, which was held between August 11 and 21 2005 in İzmir. FIBA EuroCup Challenge
The FIBA EuroCup Challenge was the 4th-tier level (it was the 3rd-tier level during the inaugural 2002–03 season), transnational professional continental club basketball competition in Europe. It was run and organized by FIBA Europe. The league was founded in 2002, and ceased in 2007. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three.
