Tsing Lung Tau
Tsing Lung Tau () is a coastal residential area in the southwest coast of the New Territories in Hong Kong. Geography Tsing Lung Tau is located on the southwest coast of the New Territories in Hong Kong, between Sham Tseng and Tai Lam; west from Tsuen Wan and east of Tuen Mun. Tsing Lung Tau is west of the adjoining area of Sham Tseng, which is slightly larger. The coast of Tsing Lung Tau once was a stretch of long beaches with one named Dragon Beach (青龍灣) and some small farmlands, however, it was reclaimed by the HKSAR Government for the widening of the Castle Peak Road in 2006. Sheung Kwai Chung
Kwai Chung is an urban area within Tsuen Wan New Town in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Together with Tsing Yi Island, it is part of the Kwai Tsing District District of Hong Kong. It is also part of Tsuen Wan New Town. In 2000, it had a population of 287,000. Its area is 9.93 km². Areas within Kwai Chung include: Kwai Fong, Kwai Hing, Lai King, Tai Wo Hau. Kwai Chung is the site of part of the container port of Hong Kong. Origin of the name In earlier times Kwai Chung was called Kwai Chung Tsai (). Shek Wai Kok
Shek Wai Kok () is a hilly area at the northeast of Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong. History Both the original Shek Wai Kok and Lo Wai villages have been described as the oldest villages of Tsuen Wan. In late 19th Century, it was one of four ''yeuk'' () in Tsuen Wan, together with Hoi Pa, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi. The heads of four ''yeuk''s formed the Tsuen Wan Security Council () to secure the area of Tsuen Wan. Shek Pik San Tsuen
Shek Pik San Tsuen or Shek Pik New Village () aka. Shek Pik Resettlement is an urban village in Tsuen Wan District, Hong Kong. History The villages of Shek Pik Valley - Shek Pik, Fan Pui, Kong Pui () and the hamlet of Hang Tsai () - were demolished and cleared to allow construction of the Shek Pik Reservoir. A total of about 260 people were resettled as a consequence. Most of the villagers of Shek Pik Village moved into five-story apartment blocks in the urban Shek Pik New Village in Tsuen Wan. Sham Tseng
Sham Tseng is a coastal area in Tsuen Wan District, Hong Kong, between Ting Kau and Tsing Lung Tau. History At the time of the 1911 census, the population of Sham Tseng was 72. The number of males was 32. In 1982, the Government launched a new town project for the area. There were proposals for a massive housing scheme, where the population of the village, then estimated at 6,000, was set to increase dramatically to 50,000 people. There would be an additional 26,000 in public housing, Home Ownership Scheme flats, Government offices and other amenities constructed on 47 hectares of land. Starting in the 1990s, more and more private housing estates were built in the area for its views of Tsing Ma Bridge over Ma Wan Channel.
