The Tsna () is a river in Kuvshinovsky District, Kuvshinovsky, Ostashkovsky District, Ostashkovsky, Firovsky District, Firovsky, and Vyshnevolotsky Districts of Tver Oblast of Russia. It flows into Lake Mstino, which is drained by the Msta and belongs to the drainage basin of the Neva and the Baltic Sea. It is long, and the area of its basin . The Valdai Hills (russian: Валда́йская возвы́шенность, Valdáyskaya vozvýshennost'), sometimes referred to as just Valdai (russian: Валда́й, Valdáy), are an upland region in the north-west of central European Russia running north–south, about midway between Saint Petersburg and Moscow, spanning the Leningrad, Novgorod, Tver, Pskov, and Smolensk Oblasts. The Valdai Hills are a popular tourist destination, particularly for fishing. The towns of Ostashkov and Valday are also known for their historical associations. The Tvertsa () is a river in Vyshnevolotsky, Spirovsky, Torzhoksky, and Kalininsky Districts, as well as in the cities of Torzhok and Tver in Tver Oblast, Russia, a left tributary of the Volga. It is long, and the area of its basin . The principal tributaries of the Tvertsa are the Malaya Tigma (left), the Shchegrinka (right), the Osuga (right), the Logovyazh (left), and the Kava (left). Velikooktyabrsky (russian: Великооктя́брьский) is an urban-type settlement in Firovsky District of Tver Oblast, Russia. It is located on the left bank of the Tsna River. Population: History Velikooktyabrsky was founded in 1832 as a settlement serving the glass-making factory which belonged to local landowner Lvov. It was moved to the current location in 1875. At the time, it was a part of Valdaysky Uyezd of Novgorod Governorate. In 1912, the factory was bought by Pavel Ryabushinsky and reorganized. In 1923, the factory was nationalized and subsequently renamed into Veliky Oktyabr. The settlement was renamed as well.
