La Jana (actress)
La Jana (born Henriette Margareta Niederauer, later surnamed Hiebel; 24 February 1905 – 13 March 1940) was an Austro-German dancer and actress. Life and career Born in Vienna as Henriette Margareta "Henny" Niederauer, the illegitimate daughter of the master gilder Heinrich Hiebel and his housekeeper Anna Niederauer, her parents did not wed until 1909, in Frankfurt. Her family was Jewish. The children grew up in the old city, near the Goethe House. Henny's older sister, Anny, later trained as an opera singer. Mady Rahl
Mady Rahl (3 January 1915 – 29 August 2009) was a German stage and film actress. Born Edith Gertrud Meta Raschke in Neukölln, now part of Berlin, Rahl trained as an actress and dancer. In 1935 she made her stage debut in Leipzig under the direction of Douglas Sirk and started her film career in 1936 with the movie ''The Mysterious Mister X''. With her role in the circus drama '' Truxa'' ( 1937), Rahl became known to a wider audience. After the war, she sang with her friend Elfreide Datzig for the USO. She ultimately appeared in approximately 90 movies, several of them for UFA. In later years, she appeared frequently on television, while also pursuing her career in the theatre. She was also the German voice of many cartoon characters and of Lucille Ball. Rahl's first marriage was to financier Theodor Reimers, her second was to producer Wilhem Sperber, and her third was to architect Werner Bürkle. Friedrich Rudolf Klein (24 November 1885 – 29 May 1955), better known as Rudolf Klein-Rogge, was a German film actor, best known for playing sinister figures in films in the 1920s and 1930s as well as being a mainstay in director Fritz Lang's Weimar-era films. He is probably best known in popular culture, particularly to English-speaking audiences, for playing the archetypal mad scientist role of C. A. Karl Julius Fritzsche (1883–1954) was a German film producer. He is best known for his role as managing director of the German major studio Tobis Film during the Nazi era.Moeller p.60 The son of a baker he originally worked in publishing before entering the film business in 1909. Initially working in distribution he moved into production from 1914. After service in the First World War he founded his own company Transocean-Film which made several films during the silent era. From 1934 he headed a production unit Tobis-Magna, producing several prestige films starring Emil Jannings, and then in 1940 he was promoted to oversee the entire Tobis outfit. Tobis Film
Tobis Film was a German film production and film distribution company. Founded in the late 1920s as a merger of several companies involved in the switch from silent to sound films, the organisation emerged as a leading German sound studio. Tobis used the Tri-Ergon sound-on-film system under the Tobis-Klang trade name. The Ufa production company had separate rights to the Tobis system, which it used under the trade name of Ufa-Klang. Some Tobis films were released in Germany by the subsidiary Europa Film. Its principal production studios were the Johannisthal Studios in Berlin. During the Nazi era, Tobis was one of the four major film companies along with Terra Film, Bavaria Film and UFA.
