Geertruida Wijsmuller-Meijer (21 April 1896, in Alkmaar – 30 August 1978, in Amsterdam) was a Dutch Dutch resistance, resistance fighter who brought Jews, Jewish children and adults into safety before and during the World War II, Second World War. Together with other people involved in the pre-war Kindertransport, she saved the lives of more than 10,000 Jewish children, fleeing anti-Semitism. She was honored as Righteous among the Nations by Yad Vashem. After the war she served on the Amsterdam city council. Truus Schröder-Schräder (1889–1985) was a Dutch socialite and trained pharmacist who was closely involved with avant-garde artists and architects of the De Stijl movement. Together with Gerrit Rietveld, she built a house for herself and her three children — the Rietveld Schröder House — which is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Initially credited as a joint designer, this was often forgotten later once Rietveld became a well-known architect. Immediately following their collaboration on the house, she went on to work with Rietveld on multiple other architectural projects as well. Truus Menger-Oversteegen (Schoten, Netherlands, Schoten, 29 August 1923 – Grootebroek, 18 June 2016) was a Netherlands, Dutch sculptor and painter. During the Second World War she was a member of the anti-Nazi Germany, Nazi Dutch armed resistance, Resistance, together with her sister, Freddie Oversteegen, and Hannie Schaft. Schaft and Truus Oversteegen were planning to liquidate policeman and National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands, NSB member Fake Krist on 25 October 1944, but other Haarlem Resistance fighters killed him first. On 1 March 1945, NSB police officer Willem Zirkzee was executed by Schaft and Truus Oversteegen near the Krelagehuis on the Leidsevaart in Haarlem. On 15 March, they wounded Ko Langendijk, who worked for the Sicherheitsdienst (SD). Geertruida Christina "Truus" Baumeister (21 October 1907 – 25 December 2000) was a Dutch freestyle swimmer who won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1931 European championships. Swimming career In 1928, Baumeister competed in the 400 m and 4 × 100 m events at the 1928 Summer Olympics. She was eliminated at 3rd place in the first heat of the 400 m freestyle. The Dutch team of Eva Smits, Maria Vierdag, Marie Braun and Baumeister came in a close third, but were disqualified because Baumeister had jumped to early in the water at her changeover.
