Trust In Luton
Luton Town Supporters' Trust is a registered industrial and provident society which acts as the supporters' trust, a democratic cooperative, for fans of the English football club Luton Town. Trust in Luton was established in June 2003 by a group of supporters following the highly controversial takeover of Luton Town by John Gurney. Luton's current Managing Director, Gary Sweet, was a founding member and former director of the Trust, and was part of the movement that successfully forced Gurney out by deliberately placing the club into administrative receivership. The Trust owns 50,000 shares in the club's holding company, Luton Town Football Club 2020 Limited, and currently holds the right of veto over any changes to the club's identity – the only such organisation that has this right in English professional football. An industrial and provident society (IPS) is a body corporate registered for carrying on any industries, businesses, or trades specified in or authorised by its rules. Luton Airport
London Luton Airport is an international airport located in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, situated east of the town centre, and north of Central London. The airport is owned by London Luton Airport Ltd (LLAL), a company wholly owned by Luton Borough Council, and operated by London Luton Airport Operations Ltd (LLAOL). An airport was opened on the site on 16 July 1938. During the World War II, Second World War, the airport was used by fighters of the Royal Air Force. Commercial activity and general aviation flight training at Luton resumed during 1952. David Pinkney is a British businessman and auto racing driver. He competed in the British Touring Car Championship on and off between 1989 and 2011. Racing career James Weaver talked David into racing and he started out in the Uniroyal Saloon Car Championship in 1987 with a £5000 Rover Vitess SD1 racing against the new Sierra Cosworths- in 1988 he raced a Cosworth Sierra in the production saloon championship- then moved on to the BTCC in 1989 with a troubled RS500 prepared by Terry Drury, then three more years in a Cosworth Saphire - Moving back to the BTCC in a Prodrive BMW in 1993. The English Football League Championship (often referred to as the Championship for short or the Sky Bet Championship for sponsorship purposes) is the highest division of the English Football League (EFL) and second-highest overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League. Bill Tomlins
Bill Tomlins was a British businessman who, along with a consortium, brought Luton Town FC out of administrative receivership in May 2004. The Hatters completed his full season in charge in May 2005, achieving the championship in the Coca-Cola League One. Tomlins was the chairman of LTFC until 11 April 2007 when he stood down and was succeeded by David Pinkney. In June 2008 he was fined £15,000 and suspended from all football and football activities for a period of five years by The Football Association in respect of thirteen charges of misconduct made against him. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
