Bjørn Trumpy
Bjørn Trumpy (6 July 1900 – 8 June 1974) was a Norwegian physicist. He was born in Bergen. His research areas covered spectral physics, earth magnetism, cosmic radiation and nuclear physics. Trumpy was the first rector at the University of Bergen, from its establishment in 1948. He was decorated Commander of the Order of St. Olav in 1951. He received his doctorate in 1927 from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. As a postdoc he studied in 1928 at the University of Göttingen under the supervision of Max Born and in 1929 at the University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Niels Bohr Niels Henrik David Bohr (; 7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. Bob Trumpy
Robert Theodore Trumpy Jr. (born March 6, 1945) is a former professional American football tight end who played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1968 through 1977. He was a two-time National Football League Pro Bowler and a two-time American Football League All-Star. Following his playing career he spent many years as a broadcast color analyst, calling four Super Bowls. He was given the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. Playing career Trumpy attended Springfield High School in Springfield, Illinois, playing football, basketball, and track-and-field. He played in four different state tournaments that took place at the University of Illinois during this time, two in basketball and two in track, where he won the 1963 state meet in long jump and tied for fifth in high jump. Rudolf Trümpy
Rudolf Trümpy (16 August 1921 – 30 January 2009) was a Swiss geologist, who was born in the small Swiss town of Glarus. He graduated from the ETH Zürich in the late 1940s with a thesis titled: “Der Lias der Glarner Alpen”. From 1947 to 1953 he spent his post-doctoral years in Lausanne before being appointed professor at ETH Zürich in 1953. He would remain there until 1986. His research mainly concentrated on alpine geology. However, he also published papers on extra-alpine regions like Greenland, the Montagne Noire and the Sahara. He was the author of the reference book ''Geology of Switzerland''. Trümpy is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes including the Wollaston Medal and the Penrose Medal. In 1978 he was elected a Foreign Associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences. ''Extra Terrestrial Visitors'' (original title ''Los nuevos extraterrestres'', literally ''The New Extraterrestrials'') is a 1983 French-Spanish science fiction film directed by Juan Piquer Simón. The film's original draft was meant to be a straightforward horror film about an evil alien on a murderous rampage, but the producers demanded script alterations in order to cash in on the success of Steven Spielberg's '' E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' by featuring a child and a cute, lovable alien. The film was largely forgotten until 1991, when it was lampooned by B movie-mocking cult TV series ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'', which used a print by Film Ventures International in which the film was re-titled ''Pod People''.
