Trump National Golf Club is a private golf club located on Lamington Road in Bedminster, New Jersey. Approximately west of New York City in Somerset County, it is owned and operated by The Trump Organization. History Donald Trump bought the 520-acre property, which included the estate of automaker John Z. DeLorean, for less than $35 million in 2002. It was previously known as Lamington Farm and the site of a floundering golf course construction project. The 36-hole club was designed by golf course architects Tom Fazio and Tom Fazio II. The first course opened in 2004. In 2005, '' Golf Magazine'' ranked it at #73 in the United States and #84 by '' Golf Digest'' for 2005 and 2006. Colts Neck Township is a township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is located in the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 9,957, down from the 10,142 counted in the 2010 census, in turn a decline of 2,189 (−17.8%) from the 12,331 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,772 (+44.1%) from the 8,559 counted in the 1990 Census. The municipality of Colts Neck Township was initially established by an act of the New Jersey Legislature as Atlantic Township on February 18, 1847, carved from portions of Freehold Township, Middletown Township, and Shrewsbury Township. It is owned by The Trump Organization. Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles was formerly known as Ocean Trails Golf Club, an 18–hole course designed by Pete Dye, which was about to open when a landslide occurred in June 1999, and the 18th hole slid toward the Pacific Ocean.
