Trudi Ames (born Trudi Ziskind on November 10, 1946) is a former actress most notable for her uncredited but memorable role in ''Bye Bye Birdie'' as Kim's best friend Ursula. She also had a notable role as Libby in '' Gidget Goes to Rome'' and was an extra in '' Gypsy''. In a TV special on January 7, 1965, ABC recognized her as one of the entertainment industry's dozen "most promising young actresses". Trudi Schoop (October 9, 1904 – July 14, 1999) was a Swiss dancer who pioneered the treatment of mental illness with dance therapy. Life and work Born in Switzerland, the daughter of the editor of the Swiss newspaper ''Neue Zürcher Zeitung'', Her younger sister was Hedi Schoop. Schoop was mostly self-taught, though she did study some ballet and modern dance after she was an established performer. She performed throughout the 1930s and made several tours of the United States, arranged by the impresario Sol Hurok. Schoop, the performer, was often referred to as a female Charlie Chaplin. Trudi Birger (24 April 1927 – 24 April 2002) was a German-born, Israeli-nationalized writer, biologist, and Holocaust survivor. After the war Birger migrated to Israel, where she founded the Dental Volunteers for Israel clinic and published the book ''A Daughter’s Gift of Love'', detailing her experiences during the Holocaust. Biography Birger grew up in Frankfurt, Germany, and she and her family went into hiding with the rise of Nazism when she was seven. They moved to Memel, East Prussia, in 1934.
