Troy, Montana
Troy is a city in Lincoln County, Montana, United States. The population was 797 at the 2020 census. It lies at the lowest elevation of any settlement in Montana. The town is on U.S. Route 2, near Montana Highway 56, in the Kootenai River gorge by the Kootenai National Forest. Originally inhabited by the Kutenai, Salish, and Piegan Blackfeet tribes, the area was settled by miners in the 1880s. Troy was registered as a town in 1892 and grew quickly after the Great Northern Railway built a freight station there, leading to a boom in workers, miners, their families, and associates. The area narrowly missed wildfire damage in 1910 and expanded its services throughout the following years, though its population would drop due to a series of misfortunes in the late 1920s before rebounding in the following decades. Troy Public High School, also known as Troy Area Senior High School and Troy High School, is a historic high school building located at Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. It is a 2 1/2-story, roughly "E"-shaped Colonial Revival-style building, measuring 435 feet wide and 165 feet deep. It has red brick exterior walls and the front facade features a central pilastered block of nine bays, with 10 Doric order pilasters. The building is topped by an octagonal cupola. Troy Christian High School is a private, Christian high school in Troy, Ohio. It is a part of Troy Christian Schools, which offers education from Pre-K through 12th grade. Their mascot is the Eagle and their colors are forest green and royal gold. Troy Christian Schools was founded in 1980 and remained a Pre-K through eighth grade program until 1996. A ninth grade class was added in 1996 in partnership with Dayton Christian Schools. An additional grade level was added each subsequent year. The first 12th grade class of 32 students graduated in 2000. The building currently housing the junior high and high school was constructed in 1996. On the last play, of the last game of the season, with the game tied 22-22 against powerful rival Huber Heights Wayne, the pass went to the 165-pound Randy Walker. He was tackled from the end zone.
