Tropical Family
''Tropical Family'' is a banner for a musical collective of artists who came together in 2013 to collaborate on an album of tropical music and summer-y dance songs. The 12-track album was released on 1 July 2013, with 12 cover versions of well-known songs by diverse artists. A Deluxe edition was released in November with four additional tracks included. Initially, Serge Gainsbourg's "Couleur café" as performed by Louisy Joseph had been recorded, but eventually it was set aside in favor of Teri Moïse song "Les Poèmes de Michelle" as interpreted by Slaï on the album. Tropical music ( es, música tropical) is a term in the Latin music, Latin music industry that refers to music genres deriving from or influenced by the Spanish-speaking areas of the Caribbean. It includes the islands of Music of Cuba, Cuba, Music of Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico, The Music of the Dominican Republic, Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean coastal regions of Music of Colombia, Colombia and Music of Venezuela, Venezuela. Mélissa Nkonda (born November 6, 1990 in Saint-Saulve, Nord, France), is a French singer. She is known for having participated in season 7 of the French reality show ''Nouvelle Star'' in 2009. Saïan Supa Crew (, ) was a French hip hop collective that was composed of three bands: Explicit Samouraï, OFX and Simple Spirit. It formed in 1997 and separated in 2007 after the departure of one of its leaders (along with Feniksi), Leeroy Kesiah.
