Trond Lykke
Trond Lykke (3 February 1946 – 17 November 2020) was a Norwegian merchant. Career Lykke was born in Trondheim, a grandson of merchant and prime minister Ivar Lykke. He was manager of the family merchandise I. K. Lykke from 1978 to 2005 (when his son took over), and chairman of the board from 1985. In 1981 he established the retail chain, Bunnpris. Lykke was adopted into the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters in 1998. From 2005 he was Danish consul Consul (abbrev. ''cos.''; Latin plural ''consules'') was the title of one of the two chief magistrates of the Roman Republic, and subsequently also an important title under the Roman Empire. Trondheim
Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. As of 2020, it had a population of 205,332, was the third most populous municipality in Norway, and was the fourth largest urban area. Trondheim lies on the south shore of Trondheim Fjord at the mouth of the River Nidelva. Ivar Lykke (politician)
Ivar Lykke (9 January 1872, Trondheim – 4 December 1949, Trondheim) was a Norwegian politician from the Conservative Party, who served as the 17th prime minister of Norway from 1926 to 1928. He was also president of the Storting from 1919 to 1927. World War Two Lykke was a member of the parliament's presidium in 1940; he stepped in (according to mandate) for president in exile, C. J. Hambro. On 27 June 1940 Lykke, and others of parliament's presidium, signed an appeal to King Haakon, about he desire forhis abdication. (The presidium back then consisted of the presidents and vicepresidents of parliament, Odelstinget and Lagtinget.) 1945 After World War Two, he and others were criticized (for actions in 1940) by a parliamentary fact-finding commission. Bunnpris
Bunnpris is a Norwegian retail chain with 216 grocery stores in 2011 in Norway, primarily in Sør-Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal and Oslo, but also many in Northern Norway. The stores are managed by I. K. Lykke run by the fifth generation Lykke. History It all started in 1830 when Iver Knudsen Lykke started exporting millstones by ship to Southern Norway and Eastern Norway. Because he usually was paid in agricultural products, Lykke started a fat store in Trondheim, and from the 1860s it was exported to England. The third generation was Ivar Lykke, who was Prime Minister of Norway 1926 to 1928. In 1981 Trond Lykke, fifth generation, started the low-price store Bunnpris at Øya in Trondheim. ''Hvem er hvem?'' ( en, Who is Who?) was a Norwegian book series, presenting facts about notable persons from Norway. The first edition was issued in 1912, and the 14th edition came in 1994. Royal Norwegian Society Of Sciences And Letters
The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters ( da, Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskab, DKNVS) is a Norwegian learned society based in Trondheim. It was founded in 1760 and is Norway's oldest scientific and scholarly institution. The society's Protector is King Harald V of Norway. A consul is an official representative of the government of one state in the territory of another, normally acting to assist and protect the citizens of the consul's own country, as well as to facilitate trade and friendship between the people of the two countries.
