Trollgaren
Trollgarden is a glacial moraine in the municipality of Hjelmeland in Rogaland county, Norway. The moraine is a tall ridge of stones, rocks, and boulders that runs for about from the east side of the lake Kvivatnet across the moorland to the northern side of the mountain Brendeknuten in the Hjelmelandsheiane mountains. The name "Trollgarden" is translated to English as ''The Troll's stone fence'' since it looks like a rock wall that a troll may have built around its farm. The ridge sits about southeast of the village of Jøsenfjorden and about northeast of the village of Hjelmelandsvågen. Access In the old days, people thought it was magic powers such as trolls that had built the massive stone fence far into the Hjelmeland moors. Rogaland

A moraine is any accumulation of unconsolidated debris (regolith and rock), sometimes referred to as glacial till, that occurs in both currently and formerly glaciated regions, and that has been previously carried along by a glacier or ice sheet. Jan Mangerud
Jan Mangerud (born 29 November 1937 in Oslo) is a Norwegian geologist who grew up in Lillestrøm, Akershus, and currently lives in Rådal, Bergen. Scientific career Mangerud graduated from the University of Oslo with a Bachelor's degree (cand.mag.) in 1961 and a master's degree (cand.real.) in 1962, and in 1973 he obtained a Doctorate (dr. philos.) from the University of Bergen, where he started a long lasting cooperation with Professor Bjørn G. Andersen, becoming a professor at the same university in 1977. He is also connected to the University of Bergen's Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, now as Professor emeritus (2013). Terminal Moraine
A terminal moraine, also called end moraine, is a type of moraine that forms at the terminal (edge) of a glacier, marking its maximum advance. At this point, debris that has accumulated by plucking and abrasion, has been pushed by the front edge of the ice, is driven no further and instead is deposited in an unsorted pile of sediment. Because the glacier acts very much like a conveyor belt, the longer it stays in one place, the greater the amount of material that will be deposited. The moraine is left as the marking point of the terminal extent of the ice. Formation As a glacier moves along its path, the surrounding area is continuously eroding. Loose rock and pieces of bedrock are constantly being picked up and transported with the glacier. Fine sediment and particles are also incorporated into the glacial ice. There are 291 peaks in Norway with elevations of over above sea level and that have a topographic prominence of more than 10 meters. The following list includes those 186 that have a topographic prominence of 50 meters or more. The topographic isolation refers to the shortest ''horizontal'' distance one would have to travel to find a higher summit. Location of peaks Most of these peaks are in the municipalities of Lom, Skjåk, Luster, and Vågå, connected to the mountain chain that reaches its prominence with Jotunheimen. Ryfylke
Ryfylke is a traditional district in the northeastern part of Rogaland county, Norway. The district is located northeast of the city of Stavanger and east of the city of Haugesund and it encompasses about 60% of the county's area. It includes the mainland located northeast and east of the Boknafjorden and east of the Høgsfjorden. It also includes the islands located on the south side of the Boknafjorden. To the east, Ryfylke borders the districts of Setesdal and Sirdal, to the south is Jæren, and to the west is Haugalandet. Ryfylke is one of the 15 districts in Western Norway. Jøsenfjorden
Jøsenfjorden is a fjord in the municipality of Hjelmeland in Rogaland county, Norway. The fjord is a branch off of the main Boknafjorden. The fjord has a length of and a width between . The Norwegian National Road 13 runs along the northern shore of the fjord. The innermost part of the fjord is where the river Førreåa empties into the fjord at small Førrebotn farm. The river Ulla empties into the fjord along the northern shoreline at the village of Jøsenfjorden and the river Vorma empties into the fjord along the southern shoreline of the fjord at the small farming village of Tøtlandsvik. The municipal centre of Hjelmelandsvågen lies at the southern side of the mouth of the fjord. Both sides of the fjord are steep and they rise almost vertically to heights of over above sea level. Lysefjorden
Lysefjord or Lysefjorden is a fjord located in the Ryfylke area in Rogaland county in southwestern Norway. The long fjord lies in the municipalities of Strand and Sandnes, about east of the city of Stavanger. The name means ''light fjord'', and is said to be derived from the lightly coloured granite rocks along its sides. It is particularly well known for the huge Preikestolen cliff overlooking the fjord, which is a major tourist destination for the region. The fairly isolated village of Lysebotn lies at the eastern end of the fjord and the villages of Forsand and Oanes both lie at the western end of the fjord near the Lysefjord Bridge, the only crossing of the fjord.
