Trois-Rivières Aigles (2013–)
The Trois-Rivières Aigles (French: ''Aigles de Trois-Rivières'') are a Canadian professional baseball team based in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. They are members of the Frontier League, and play their home games at Stade Quillorama. The Aigles are named to honour the previous Trois-Rivières Aigles, which called the same ballpark home from 1971 until 1977 as a member of the Eastern League as an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. In addition, a team in the Ligue de Baseball Junior Élite du Québec bore that name, winning the 2007 pennant. The Aigles' mascot is Grand Chelem l'aigle (English: ''Grand Slam the Eagle''). Cy Young Award
The Cy Young Award is given annually to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball (MLB), one each for the American League (AL) and National League (NL). The award was first introduced in 1956 by Baseball Commissioner Ford Frick in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, who died in 1955. The award was originally given to the single best pitcher in the major leagues, but in 1967, after the retirement of Frick, the award was given to one pitcher in each league. Each league's award is voted on by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America, with one representative from each team. As of the 2010 season, each voter places a vote for first, second, third, fourth, and fifth place among the pitchers of each league. Pete Laforest
Pierre-Luc "Pete" Laforest (born January 27, 1978) is a Canadian former professional baseball catcher and was the first manager of the Trois-Rivières Aigles. Career Laforest is a graduate of Fort Scott Community College. He was a draft pick of the Montreal Expos, but has also played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the San Diego Padres, and the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2003, Laforest missed spring training and the first month of the season due to visa problems. Since 1997, he had improperly used a student visa to enter the United States, and in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks he was denied entry to the country until an FBI background check had been completed. Laforest did not speak English until moving to the United States to attend community college, as he was raised in Quebec where the main language is French. Jesen Dygestile-Therrien (born March 18, 1993) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Trois-Rivières Aigles of the Frontier League. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Career Therrien played college baseball at Ahuntsic College in Québec City, Canada. Philadelphia Phillies Therrien was drafted by the New York Mets in 36th round, with the 1,082nd overall selection, of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign. He was then drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round, with the 541st overall selection, of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft and signed. The New York Boulders are an American independent professional baseball team playing in the Frontier League based in Pomona, Rockland County, New York. The team was founded as a member of the Can-Am League, beginning play in the 2011 season as the Rockland Boulders. The Boulders and the rest of the teams in the Can-Am League (except for the Ottawa Champions, who were not invited) were absorbed into the Frontier League when the two leagues merged following the 2019 season. The "Boulders" name refers to Rockland County's plethora of boulders in its landscape. Stade Canac is a stadium in Quebec City, Quebec. It is used primarily for baseball and is currently the home stadium for the Quebec Capitales of the independent Frontier League.
