Trophimus
Trophimus ( el, Τρόφιμος, ''Tróphimos'') or Trophimus the Ephesian ( el, Τρόφιμος ὁ Ἐφέσιος, ''Tróphimos ho Ephésios'') was a Christian who accompanied Paul during a part of his third missionary journey. He was with Paul in Jerusalem, and the Jews, supposing that the apostle had brought him into the temple, raised a tumult which resulted in Paul's imprisonment. (See Herod's Temple). In writing to Timothy, the apostle comments that he left Trophimus in Miletus due to illness. This must refer to some event not noticed in the Acts. His feast is kept on 19 September. Background Trophimus and companion Tychicus are called "Asianoi", that is, natives of the Roman province of Asia ( Acts 20:4). Making it still more definite, Trophimus is also termed an "Ephesian" and a "Gentile/Greek" in Acts 21. Relation to Apostle Paul Trophimus was one of eight friends ( Acts 20:4), who accompanied Paul at the close of his third missionary journey and traveled with h ...

Trophimus Of Arles
According to Catholic lore, Trophimus of Arles (french: Trophime) was the first bishop of Arles, in today's southern France. History It was an early tradition of the Catholic Church that under the co-Emperors Decius and Herennius Etruscus (251 AD), Pope Fabian sent out seven bishops from Rome to Gaul, to preach the Gospel: Gatien to Tours, Trophimus to Arles, Paul to Narbonne, Saturninus to Toulouse, Denis to Paris, Austromoine to Clermont, and Martial to Limoges. Gregory of Tours, apparently quoting from the ''Acta'' of Saint Saturninus, says in effect that Trophimus arrived in Gaul with the first bishops of Tours, Paris, and other cities after the middle of 3rd century, in the consulate of Decius and Gratus. From the mid-fifth century local tradition has assimilated Trophimus of Arles with the Trophimus mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as a companion of Paul the Apostle. The ''Martyrium romanum'' identifies him as the disciple of Paul, but the identification is spurio ...

Judaism Without Embellishment
''Judaism Without Embellishment'' was an anti-Semitic book published in 1963 by the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The book was written by Trofim Kichko, who worked at the Academy. The book argued that a worldwide Jewish conspiracy existed, that the Jewish people were attempting to subvert the Soviet Union, and had played a role in the 1941 Nazi-German invasion of the country. The book was illustrated throughout with caricatures depicting Jewish people in a stereotypical and prejudicial manner, very similar to those that had been seen in Nazi antisemitic propaganda. While the work was initially hailed as scientific work of distinction in analyzing the Jewish population of the Soviet Union and distributed for educational purposes across the nation, it was met with hostility from the international community. The work was condemned across Europe and the United States, leading to protests in Scandinavia when General Secretary Nikita Khrushchev toured the region. Communist parties ...

Trophimus, Sabbatius, And Dorymedon
Saints Trophimus (''Trophimos''), Sabbatius (''Sabbatios, Sabbaticus''), and Dorymedon are venerated as Christianity, Christian martyrs.Christopher Walter, ''The warrior saints in Byzantine art and tradition'' (Ashgate Publishing, Ltd., 2003), 255. The story of their martyrdom is enshrouded in myth, and though they share the same feast day, the saints were not martyred together or at the same time. According to their ''Passion'', Emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus, Probus decreed that all Christians should sacrifice to the Roman gods. The Emperor sent two officials, Trophimus and Sabbatius, to Antioch. However, after Trophimus and Sabbatius arrived at the city, they were so shocked by the tortures inflicted upon the Christians there that the two men converted to Christianity. Trophimus and Sabbatius were arrested and tortured; Sabbatius died as a result of being tortured. Trophimus was sent to Synnada in Phrygia, Synnada in Asia Minor. Imprisoned at Synnada was a Christian senator ...
