Trixter
Trixter is an American glam metal band from Paramus, New Jersey. The band achieved major success in the early 1990s with their top hit, "Give It To Me Good" reaching sixty-five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990. The band disbanded for several years as glam metal lost mainstream popularity. Career Early years Trixter was formed in June 1983 in Paramus, New Jersey, United States, by natives Steve Brown, and Doug "Dougie C." Cowie. Originally known as Rade, Brown and Cowie the group added drummer Mike Pane, and later singer Pete Loran to round out the lineup. After a single concert, Pane was replaced with Mark "Gus" Scott and the band changed its name to Trixter. By 1986, Trixter was a constant fixture on the concert scene, quickly growing a fan base on the strength of their live shows. Hear!
''Hear!'' is the second album by the American glam metal band Trixter. The album was released on October 13, 1992, through MCA Records. ''Hear!'' failed to reach the same success of the band's self-titled debut, peaking at No. 109 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The band supported the album by touring with Kiss and Faster Pussycat. The album's first single, "Road of a Thousand Dreams", was re-recorded and included as an iTunes bonus track on the album '' Human Era''. Production The album was produced by James Barton. Trixter wrote and demoed eight of the songs while touring in support of their debut. The band hoped to move away from the pop metal of ''Trixter'' by titling the album ''Hear!'' and opting to forgo a band cover photo; Trixter considered the music to be rock 'n' roll. Bill Wray
Bill Wray (born Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American musician, composer and producer. His performing career spanned the mid 1970s through the early 1980s. Since then he has written and produced a variety of artists from glam metal to cajun. He is the brother of fellow musician/composer Jim Wray. Music career Bill Wray made an appearance on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with the song "Pinball, That's All" in 1979, peaking at No. 96. Bill Wray has written the songs "Fool for Your Love" and "So Close" for Diana Ross. Wray and his brother Jim wrote most of the hits ("One in a Million", "Surrender") on Trixter's debut album. Wray was the producer of EFX at MGM Grand Casino, at the time the most expensive and largest-scaled theater installation in the world. MCA Records was an American record label owned by MCA Inc., which later became part of Universal Music Group. Pre-history MCA Inc., a powerful talent agency and a television production company, entered the recorded music business in 1962 with the purchase of the New York-based US Decca Records (established in 1934), including Coral Records and Brunswick Records. Scorpions are a German rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Since the band's inception, its musical style has ranged from hard rock, heavy metal and glam metal to soft rock.
