Tripura Upajati Juba Samiti
Tripura Upajati Juba Samiti ("Tripura Tribal Youth Association") was a political party in the Indian state of Tripura from 1977–2001. During 1988-93, the Indian National Congress formed a coalition government with the TUJS at the Tripura Legislative Assembly. In 2002, TUJS merged with Indigenous People's Front of Tripura to form Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra. Electoral Performance The INC-TUJS coalition together won 31 seats out of 60 at the 1988 Tripura Legislative Assembly election. Harinath Debbarma
Harinath Debbarma (born 30 June 1933) is a Tipra-Indian politician, activist and statesman from Tripura. Harinath Debbarma founded the Tripura Upajati Juba Samiti (TUJS) in 1967 along with Shyama Charan Tripura. Later he founded the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura in 1997. Harinath Debbarma was also a Member of Legislative Assembly from the Charilam constituency in Tripura and the former CEM of TTAADC (1990). Nagendra Jamatia
Nagendra Jamatia ( 22 May 1948– 21 January 2019) was an Tiprasa Indian politician from Tripura. A member of the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra, Jamatia served as a cabinet minister of Tripura Government from 1988 to 1993. He was a five time elected legislator of the Tripura Legislative Assembly from 1977 to 1993 and 1998 to 2008. Early life He was born the third child of Smt Gandhi Kanya Jamatia and Shri Mohan Chandra Jamatia who were farmers in the small village of Tota Kami under the present Gomati District of the state. Rabindra Debbarma is an Indian Tiprasa politician from Tripura who is an Executive Member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council from Simna-Tamakari constituency. He is also the Chief Whip of TIPRA Motha Party in TTAADC. Political career Rabindra Debbarma started his political journey as a student leader associated with the Twipra Students' Federation (TSF). Tripura State Legislature He contested the 1988 Tripura Legislative Assembly Election from Simna Assembly constituency in which he was defeated by CPIM candidate Abhiram Debbarma. The 1988 Tripura Legislative Assembly election took place in a single phase on 2 February 1988 to elect the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from each of the 60 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in Tripura, India. More than 100 individuals were killed in election-related violence in the state of Tripura. Government and TNV representatives agreed to a cessation of military hostilities on August 12, 1988.
