Tripping Daisy (album)
''Tripping Daisy'' is the fourth and final studio album by Tripping Daisy. It was released in 2000 on the independent label Sugar Fix Records. Production The album was released following the termination of the group's contract with Island Records Island Records is a multinational record label owned by Universal Music Group. It was founded in 1959 by Chris Blackwell, Graeme Goodall, and Leslie Kong in Jamaica, and was eventually sold to PolyGram in 1989. Island and A&M Records, anoth .... It came out a few months after the death of guitarist Wes Berggren, after which point the band broke up. The album is now out of print. Starting with the track "Drama Day Weekend", the majority of the songs on the record flow into each other, as though one long musical composition. According to Tim DeLaughter, there were only 500 CDs made. The final track ends at 4:37 & starts up again at 10:57 and plays out till the end (as studio gibberish & outtakes). Tripping Daisy
Tripping Daisy is a Neo-psychedelia, neo-psychedelic pop rock band that was formed in Dallas, Texas, by lead singer/guitarist Tim DeLaughter in 1990 along with Jeff Bouck (drums), Wes Berggren (guitar) and Mark Pirro (bass). The group disbanded in 1999 following the sudden death of Berggren. The remaining members reformed in 2017 for a reunion performance at the Homegrown Festival in Dallas, following which they played a number of concerts in Texas during 2017 and 2019. History First album After playing local gigs, the band released their first single, "Lost and Found", which received moderate airplay on local radio station KDGE. The band incorporated a light show similar to The Joshua Light Show at the Fillmore East. It used effects such as hand made slide shows with multi layered 16 mm projections along with oil and water. ''Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb'' is the third studio album by American Rock music, rock band Tripping Daisy, released on July 7, 1998, through Island Records. It was the band's first album to be recorded with guitarist Phil Karnats and drummer Benjamin Curtis (musician), Benjamin Curtis, and was the band's last album to be released during guitarist Wes Berggren's lifetime. Produced by Eric Drew Feldman, the album is a stylistic departure from the band's previous work, showcasing a more artistic sound that is underpinned by Pop music, pop sensibilities. Wes Berggren
Wesley Joseph Berggren (April 3, 1971 – October 27, 1999) was an American musician and former guitarist for the rock band Tripping Daisy. Berggren was found dead of a drug overdose in his apartment on October 27, 1999, by his wife, Melissa. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office found traces of cocaine, propoxyphene, and benzodiazepine in his body. With Berggren's death, the band cancelled its upcoming tour dates and finished some minor recording sessions for the final album. The self-titled album was released posthumously, with Berggren's father Don playing a Fender Rhodes electric piano on the unfinished song "Soothing Jubilee". Tripping Daisy officially disbanded on December 14, 1999. Tim DeLaughter, the singer and founding member, went on to form the Polyphonic Spree, which also features former Tripping Daisy members Mark Pirro and Bryan Wakeland.
