Trinidad (2008 Film)
''Trinidad'' is an American documentary film by Jay Hodges and PJ Raval. The film was screened at the IFP Market and IFP Rough Cuts Lab. In 2009, the film premiered on Showtime. Synopsis Dr. Stanley Biber began conducting sex reassignment therapy in Trinidad, Colorado, in 1969. Dr. Marci Bowers, a former patient of Biber, took over his practice after his death. ''Trinidad'' focuses on Bowers and two of her patients at different stages of their transition from male to female. PJ Raval
PJ Raval is a queer first-generation Filipinos, Filipino-United States, American filmmaker known for his documentary films about underrepresented subcultures and identities within the LGBT community, LGBTQ+ community. Raval is a Guggenheim Fellow, a Robert Giard Fellow, a member of the Producers Guild of America, and the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences. Raval was named one of ''Filmmaker (magazine), Filmmaker''s ''25 New Faces of Independent Film'' in 2006 and was a featured creator in the 2010 ''Out (magazine), Out 100''. Julia Kent is a Canadian cellist and composer from Vancouver, Canada, and based in New York City, United States. She has performed as a member of Rasputina and with Antony and the Johnsons. ''A Change of Sex'' is a multi-part television documentary about English trans woman Julia Grant. The first chapter, initially titled ''George'', premiered on BBC2 in 1979. ''TransGeneration'' is a US documentary-style reality television series that affords a view into the lives of four transgender college students during the 2004–2005 academic year. Two of the students are trans women, and two are trans men. Each of them attends a different school in the United States, and they are each at a different stage of their degree programs. The filmmakers document events in the students' academic careers, their social and family lives, and their transitions.
